Mine always replies to me the same day, usually within 30 minutes. Only time it took longer was during COVID and another batch of cancellations were announced. I would usually just put my next cruise on hold and leave a voicemail saying as much and he would call me the next day before the hold expired to complete the booking.
-
I've booked with F2F a few times, but always ended up canceling. Each time, I would have my preferred flights booked and paid for, then Carnival would change the flights, but blame the airline(Price on the flights went up before Carnival secured them) from direct flights to flights requiring a layover, adding hours to my flight. I canceled and rebooked the exact same flights direct with the airline for the original price I paid Carnival.
Note, if you book a flexible option with Carnival, you can make changes up to 60 days before you cruise.

Nope unless this is your 1st platinum Cruise.
What difference does it make if it's their first cruise as Platinum?

Back in January, we didn't pull into port until 8:30-9. Only called self assist until roughly 10:30.

They had them in suites on 1 of the newer ships(Maybe Horizon) when it first came out and they were rarely used. Even had a few come up missing and had to be replaced. Simply wasn't worth the trouble of having them in the cabins. Just like robes, why wash them all the time when there were rarely used?

If you're asking for stock advice on these boards, maybe you're not ready to be buying stock.

What about coming up with something to succeed the spirit class. It will be good having more versatile ships, with better weather proofing, that could also replace the smaller ships as they get phased out.
Smaller ships are not as profitable as te larger ships, so I doubt you'll see anything that small from Carnival for a long time, if ever. The ports that need the smaller ships need Carnival more than Carnival needs them.

there are some trivia contests that i think folks can get 18, 19 or 20 right....but not too many.
im a fiftysomething who has played his share of trivia at sea and on land and i have a few very sweet spots sports, music, film. (im a sports nut, former radio dj and film minor fyi)
one particular sports trivia had me baffled. some of the questions were really good.
how many feet is a bowling lane?
what is the circumference of a basketball rim?
who was the last nfl player NOT to wear a helmet?
who was the first mlb player elected to the hall of fame? (a baffling one to me, there were 5 electees in the first class of the HOF)
what is the national sport of Canada? (not hockey, fyi)
i played it straight the first time i heard these and actually won. the second time i heard the same questions there were 4 teams that got perfect scores. they either remembered the answers or fibbed, obviously. i didnt submit my score since i was aware of the answers.
i havent noticed the phone usage but many of my cruises were before internet access was widespread.
I actually won sports trivia on Panorama with those questions. Missed MLB HOF and my team got the NFL one because my friend was a fan of the player, but I don't remember who it was.

No, or there wouldn't be any platinum perk for boarding as everyone would bring their "friends".

I see both sides of this. If you leave a TBA, its easy to add a name to it, however if you end up going solo, wouldn't you lose that fare?
-
Weird, I've never had an issue doing check-in for the 2nd cabin.

Thanks! What kind of price range is JiJi's? Do you happen to know where the secret deck is located? I have an older screen shot of a post where the person was able to see the stars from an area in the secret deck. It is on my bucket list to see the milky way, etc.
Jijis is $15/pp. I love the Peppered Beef there.
Sadly they changed the lunch options and it is no longer like the Mongolian Wok and now has a menu of set entrees.

My first cruise was in 2012 and I've never seen them offered. They've been gone at least that long.
You probably just missed them because my 2nd cruise was in Dec 2012 and I purchased one. I know I was able to purchase 1 in 2015 while on Miracle, but that was the last time.

You can use OBC to purchase it before your cruise at a cheaper rate, so not sure why you want to wait until you're onboard.

In the amount of time, it took to post this, you likely lost the offer as they go out to many people at the same time and whoever gets it first gets it.

As I mentioned in my review thread I had a midship cabin on my latest sailing that was in a very busy location. Deck 6 FWD by elevators. I thought it would be a convenient place to be, and it sure was judging by all the traffic in the hallways, but I prefer a more quiet area as i've had in the past in back of the ship.
So I decided to call Carnival today to inquire about changing to a cabin more to the AFT of the ship. Same balcony level, just further back is all I wanted. She told me it would be a new rate to change the location and the new rate was going to be over $300 more than I originally paid. After getting my heart pumping again from the shock, I told her not to make any changes because I really thought it would only cost something like $50 bucks change fee if anything.
She mentioned how she had to refer to her "coach" for a moment, so perhaps I just got an inexperienced trainee on the line? I always thought you can move your cabin somewhere else for minimal penalty as long as it was in the same level category? Should I call another time and get someone more experienced?
No, likely what happened is the prices have gone up since you booked and you have to pay the going rate for the new cabin.

When I did it last year for my Mardi Gras cruise my PVP waived the change fee and I ended up booking a new promo that gave me more OBC so it was a real win-win.
Not when it comes to upgrades.

It's great news, but most everyone on here has scared me away from ever getting on the Miracle.
Miracle is an amazing ship. Not as new and fancy as the new ones, but it almost has me considering another cruise out of Galveston. Not likely, but considering.

they should break it up with more private island days
Since it takes so long to get to those private islands, what do you suggest they do?

That may be, maybe there is some truth to it. I know a lot has been cut since I started cruising 13 years ago. More and more cuts.

By the time I add the specialty dining onboard and the drinks, I agree with you.

Carnival has cut prices to bring in new cruisers that don't know what they are missing while driving loyal customers away.

Overall, I think the Sunshined ships are an idea that has sort of had to pass Carnival by. It's not that the idea is bad, but that the base of each ship gets older no matter what you do to it. While good maintenance (which Carnival is not particularly known for) can extend the life of a ship, it seems that lately most Carnival ships have about a 30 year shelf life.
When ships are 10-15 years old, it makes sense to invest in them. But much of the fleet with this general layout (Destiny and Conquest classes) are getting old enough that such a large investment in a ship that may have less than 10 years left on the clock (at least for Carnival) seems like a poor choice.
Still though, seems surprising that an 18 year old ship was simply dumped from the fleet when many older ships play the waters for Carnival Corp. The only way it makes sense is if they deemed the ship to be unprofitable (the reason much of the Fantasy class was unceremoniously beached as soon as the pandemic hit) which again leads me to wonder what's wrong with it.
What ship was only 18 when they got rid of it?

Sorry I should have been more specific, I used to be able to get on Carnival ships in Vancouver and sail to Alaska and Hawaii, but that's stopped since covid. Is that no longer going to happen?
Normally Carnival would use Vancouver as a port to start cruises for when repositioning ships from Alaska to other ports so they could get around the PVSA of 1886. Now they just reposition the ship back to Australia instead of back to the US ports.
