  1. We did E110 in October, best value for the $$.

I agree. Not only the oversized balcony. But a deluxe balcony. For the price of a regular balcony. The only negative is the location as far as getting to things. Way to the front of the ship. Kind of a haul to the buffet. But you can be in the showroom in nothing flat.

  2. I always thought it was weird cruise lines think you want to eat with strangers. When you go to restaurants they don’t do this. I hate restaurants that have that bench seating along the wall that’s becoming more popular to get more tables in limited space. You feel like your sitting with the people 2 inches from you.

  3. To the OP, I respect your right to your opinion. But based on your cruise history (having sailed on one of these ships 3+ years ago, and never having sailed on the other), I dismiss your opinion.

That’s fine. Go ahead and book a cruise on either one. You won’t see me on them. Looking forward to Vista next month.

  4. Here's the 9am update. Copied from the other active Triumph cancellation thread

    Update:

CARNIVAL TRIUMPH Dec. 4, 2017, FINAL UPDATE:

Carnival Triumph is expected to arrive at 5:00 PM. Check-in will be from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM. A lunch credit of 15.00 USD, per person, will be posted to your Sail & Sign account. All guests must be onboard by 8:00 PM.

Oh Goody a whole $15 for missing half the day on the ship.

  5. They are out of their flipping minds. What is that? About a 13% increase with no additional return, hint--bottled water?

I do like the NCL product but there is no way in hell I am consuming $105 a day in alcohol.

I will be choosing a different free at sea option if I choose them again for my cruise line. Honestly, I'm sick of this BS. They are overcharging for a product solely to increase the service charge which is allegedly distributed to employees, but I suspect a solid percentage goes to anyone but.

I spoke with a server on the Escape who I wrote an additional tip in for and asked her if she actually gets it. She said in all her years with NCL, her check never changes from her set pay rate despite passengers writing in additional tips on her receipts all the time.

    Classy.

This is why I always tip cash. I never write in xtra tip.

  6. Eh, Norwegian's prices are irrelevant to anyone else. They charge those prices because NO ONE pays them. Everyone gets the beverage package 'free' with booking. The condition is you pay the gratuities on the package. So the price people are actually paying is going from $14 pp pd to $16 pp pd. Still a way better deal than cheers - and no 15 drink limit!

Unfortunately they tack on more than the tips. Usually the fare goes up several hundred when you choose to include the beverage package. It's the ole double the price and then take 25% off trick.

  7. Which cruise lines raised their prices? I am going on the RC Oasis of the Seas next month and I purchased the package for 30% off the regular price....Carnival has a limit to alcoholic drinks, all other cruise lines don't have any limits, so I can't see Carnival raising their prices.

If you already purchased you are locked in at that price. Even if they increase you will keep the price you paid.

Princess went to around $69 a day and Norweigan went to $102 per day.
