I'm also on the Crown right now. They had jumbo shrimp and oysters on the half shell one afternoon in the buffet.
NICE ! - is there anything in the Patter about the different 'specials' or themes in the buffet - or do you just have to go by and see what they have ?
we'll go to the buffet for breakfast ... but maybe not anytime else during the day, so we may be missing out ...

hurricane Lorenzo ....

pretty soon look for Princess to put in much stronger disclaimer about internet service and connections ... then strictly limit any adjustments based on connectivity or lack thereof ...
maybe even going to a tiered level again - even with the 'unlimited'

You can preprint your own or use the Porter's blank tags at the pier. People who don't have assignments until at the Pier can see the list the Porter's have to discover their cabin, and then use the blank tags, but if anyone needs them, they can use them.
assignments aren't made at the pier ... but some people may not find out about them until then ...

FLL to Southern Caribbean. BCs, Grenada, Dominica, etc.
Should be lotsa satellites. Any info on the embarkation price for elites? No info on website.
Thanks, voljeep.
it's been well documented here ... when people can get internet connections ... that cruisers that get free internet minutes because of their captain circle level 'should' wait until they get on board ... then 'turn in' their minutes for a discount on the unlimited package ...
what Ship ,by the way ?

The reason we joined Cruise Critic, is to be active and interactive with fellow cruisers on our cruises. Joining Roll Calls and participating in Meet and Greets as well as shore excursions together. Also dining together, meeting for drinks, meeting before the cruise or after the cruise and share like interests (for us it would be photography and scuba diving). We have written at least 3 photo travelogues for each of the 3 cruise lines, to share travel experiences and tips we have picked-up from others along the way. In the process we have made some life long friends.
Which cruise line has the most participation or interaction on Roll Calls which leads to other activities on and off the ship as a result ?
well, what were 'your' expectations and results ? does it really matter what others think when you have first hand knowledge ? I'd like to read your thoughts ...

Almost all side facing cabins have balconies that are approximately 9' x 4'. Just large enough for two chairs and a small table. There are no decks, like grand class ships, that have larger balconies. If you look at the deck plans you can notice some larger balconies on decks 8, 15 & 16 forward. You will also notice some angled balconies mid ship on all decks and forward on deck 16.
are the balcony renderings on the Princess website deck plans an accurate indication at to what the actual size of the balconies really are once on board ?

It's hard to know if and when they will offer Princess cards again but they just revamped their rewards program 9/24 and everyone was reset to zero points. As they roll new things out for rewards I'll watch for Princess cards and post it for you and anyone who's interested.
do you have to 'earn points' first ...then exchange the 'points' for the right to buy discounted cards ?

We got an upsell offer this week to go from an OY - ocean view obstructed, to a B2 for $199. pp. I was reluctant to jump on this; we have been in multiple cat. cabins over the years, and I'm happy as long as I'm on the ship. But DH said, go for it, and contacted our TA who took care of details. Back to printing out the new boarding passes [have the Medallion on my iphone, but don't trust it], and new luggage tags. Then I checked the OBC's - the stock holder's disappeared, so I faxed another and it was put back within an hour! Looked again and noticed that the OBC for holding FCC was still showing the $25. pp based on the original booking for an ocean view. With the new balcony, it should be $50. pp so another call to Princess. That's when my BP went up. According to Princess I'm stuck with the $25. BUT it's not like I got a free upgrade I said, I did pay for it even if it's a lower rate, thus we should each have $50.pp OBC. No they wouldn't budge. I then asked that if I got an upsell offer to a full suite, would the daily "service charge" still be at the original rate? Oh, no, that would go up. So, DH called our TA who said he would handle it with someone at Princess who's higher up in the food chain.

Princess 'seems' to have different rules for benefits if you booked the cabin originally, and if you took an upsell ...

Oops sorry you are right, its per person. Thanks for your opinion!
how much is the current price difference in your OB and the mini ?
and how important is the shower/tub combo to you ... along with "extra" sitting space

congrats your upsell sounds way better than mine!
maybe .. OP went from a mini to a CC mini - basically a better location, maybe, and CC dining
your offer, as posted is from an Obstructed Balcony to a Mini .. quite a bigger jump

I'm still waiting to see if the internet manager's prediction of better internet comes true. I plan to base my request on the percentage of good and bad days. So if we have speeds that are acceptable tomorrow, it will work out to be a request for 75 percent of the money back for 12 bad days out of 16.
how many times have you discussed this with the internet manager .... and on the bad days , you were still able to do both your live threads, with pics, and also post this thread about how bad things are ... on an almost daily basis ?
yet you want a full refund for those 'bad days'? you'll prolly get it , but ...

how long until your cruise ? ( trying to see approx. when upgrades/upsells might start for our 12/4 sail date )
did you get to pick your cabin ?

You can agree to have them sent to you, but you pay postage on EACH medallion mailed and I think it was 6 or 7$ each. I thought that was a waste of money so we picked up at the terminal By the way, the lanyard was free but there is a charge for the other types of holders. I also thought the lanyard was long and there was not an adjustment clasp, you just had to knot it if you wanted to shorten it.
medallions are shipped free ... you paid shipping on the other items you ordered ...

A local grocery store owns gas/convenience stores.
Kroger ? ... sometimes they offer double or even 4 times fuel points with gift card purchases
we don't have a local one, but our son does and we just send him money to get ours so he can get the discount
never a problem using them ... and he gets a nice discount when he fills up "the beast" (Excursion)

would this translate to 1,830 cabins at double occupancy ? is there a place , without counting the number on the deck plans , that show the
number of cabins per floor , and even by type ?
