  1. Terry - obviously the downturn in the overall market is dragging down the vast majority of stocks….I don’t even want to think what it is doing to my wife’s retirement pro folio…but I wonder what will be the impact of the now apparent runaway inflation rate on the travel industry. Here we have the obvious tendency to think and talk about Silversea but that is a relatively small part of RCL’s business. Not to sound privileged or elite but the majority of us here can afford luxury travel on Silversea and are somewhat inflation proof. That said Silversea Is not the revenue “bread and butter” of RCL. I’d think sooner than later the mass market lines will start to feel the pinch as not only operating costs increase but reduced demand as their clientele start to prioritize their spending. Certainly there have been times in my life when it came down to making some hard choices.
  2. Maybe because we’ve only had ten cruises on Silversea since 2012 we have not been contacted by phone or email all that much. I did get a call a couple of months ago from a Silversea in-house consultant saying he had been assigned as our point of contact. He did follow up with an email with his contact information. Other than that I don’t recall a bunch of emails or other contacts. Except for our very first Silversea cruise in 2012 which we booked directly with Silversea all of our subsequent cruises have been booked with an external travel agency so that may have a bearing. Mostly because of Covid and a few work related restrictions we haven’t cruised, much less vacationed outside of our home, since early 2020.
  3. The recent pictures of the Cloud I’ve seen show the zodiacs stored on a platform/crane like contraption aft and some forward behind the Observation Lounge.
  4. It would appear to me that unlike the Cloud where the zodiacs are stored aft but above deck 9 on the Wind they are stored aft on a platform on deck 6. Not view enhancing but it is an expedition ship now. 🙁
  5. The Wind was our first Silversea cruise back in 2012 and as it turns out our last and most recent cruise in 2020. I think there were only two more cruises before Covid shut everything down. We knew she was going to be converted to an expedition ship so we wanted one more cruise on her as we’re generally not interesting in the expedition itineraries. We hope they’ve done the little lady good and she’ll cruise for years and years to come.
