  1. Those dates are indeed blacked out. At the very bottom there are several that are blacked out. Not valid with any other offers or discounts, during holidays, special events, 1/4-3/31/24, 4/5-4/6, 4/12, 4/19-4/20, 7/1-7/6, 7/14-7/17, 10/17-10/19, 10/29-11/3 or 12/31/24. Offers may
  2. If your date was 10/ 17 thru 10/19 it is clearly blacked out on their web site???? your date?
  3. I have been using V.T, for many years. You might have a BIG surprise when you show up at the hotel and the do not have your booking. Yes I have seen it many times here on Cruise Critic. You need to double check when going thru a second party. You will not have a room, this is a smaller hotel and are usually booked 100%.
  4. It is on 17th. st. north of the airport about 3 miles. I do not recommend this hotel as every other hotel on 17th. is nicer. Have been to many over past 30 years. A lot of cruisers use it because it is massive, hench a lot of recomendations. Hyatt Place, Hilton Marina, Renaissance, Four Points By Sheraton are IMOI nicer.
  5. Book it. we have used V.T. over 6-7 times and have saved loads of money. You will like it, its location, clean.
  6. Pricing is more in June, July, and August. I would get a Balcony for you and husband, then get an interior for the 3 children across the hall. Once onboard you can put anyone you want in each cabin, vice versa. You can do mock bookings on just about any website. You will get a better deal going though travel agent then booking directly with R.C.
  7. I do not have a recent stay with them, but 1 year ago. You call the shuttle once you have your bags and it usually takes them 15 min to get to the airport. Hotel is 3 miles away ,but he might have just left the airport, so round trip with drop of can take 20 min or so. They do charge $ 9 p.p. If you do not want to wait get in a Cab and make sure they turn on the meter. If not tell them to stop and let you out. Metered fare is $14-16 depending on stop lights. Uber or lift is not much cheaper than a cab. We have been to this hotel about 8 times in the past 10 years. We love it.
  8. I would guess 1/3 of people tip on average. We give $5. You do NOT have to, as a lot do not.
  9. The Dania area is very busy with expressways and such. We like the 17th street area north of the airport. You can walk up and down 17th St. Plenty of places to eat, and real close to the port.
  10. If you do not get an email within 7 days call the hotel directly and see if you have reservations. Hopefully your dates are available. They have always worked for us and have many stays there.
  11. Yes. We have used them many, many times over the past 7-8 years. We have 2 dates for 5/24 pre, and post cruise booked with them. Took about 5 days for confirmation. We always double check with the hotel itself for the booking after we hear back from V.T. It is a great savings, and a real nice hotel.
  12. Embassy Suites on 17th street. Hyatt Place behind E.S. Have used both before, they don't mind.
  13. That's just it. You don't have to tell them. Just ask them to hold it. We have done it many times at several hotels on 17 th. street. Go in ask them to hold you bags and hand them $ 5. We have never been asked if we are staying there.
  14. My point exactly. Why wait for an uber when there are plenty of taxi waiting. Are you gonna save 50 cents.

  16. A cab is the same price. its like 3 miles. why wait for the shuttle.
  17. That is a really tiny ship compared to Oasis.
  18. Duffy's sports bar next to Embassy Suites on 17th. street. Go early though. They have 2 for 1 drinks all day, every day. Food is really good for a chain Bar. It is real close to the port, maybe 3 blocks.
  19. ES is crowded, elevators are very, very slow. Breakfast is a long line 50 people plus. Managers reception is BUD beer and cheap wine, pretzels, popcorn, ect. Rooms are very dated, ours was dirty in the bath room. Had to stay there because our go to hotel was sold out, Hyatt Place se 10th street behind ES.We have stayed in almost every hotel on 17th. St. in past 15 years and Es would be our last choice.
  20. We have done this before. Grab a cab and go to the nearest hotel, like Hilton Marina. Its like 1 block from the port. Go inside and have them hold your luggage. Give them $ 5-10. Buy a day pass there to ride the water taxi. It boards right next to the hotel. You can get on and off all day and see a lot of Fort Lauderdale. When you are ready to go to the airport, its a 12-15 min ride. We have done this at Embassy Suites on 17th. st. and also Hyatt Place Cruise Port Convention center when having a late flight. Fort Lauderdale and the port are 2-3 miles apart, so real close. Plenty of stops on the Taxi to eat or have drinks. I think the Water Taxi is about $35 P.P. all day.
  21. Not sure how it is less expensive, for May 30, 31 it is $246 a night. Hyatt Place is $109, and $119 thru Valuetrips.
