I just received an email from Oceania canceling our Riveria Barcelona to Rome June 10-17 2024 sailing. It seems the ship will be repositioning from Asia to the Mediterranean. It cannot use the Suez Canal/ Red Sea, so will sail around Africa. It is my understanding that all Riviera Cruises May 14 to June 17 are cancelled. Full refunds were offered.

No, I didn’t receive an Excursion PDF for Barcelona to Rome either…. Maybe because I booked it over a year out. I kept OL on that one as the price increase was greater than the Caribbean cruise. Barcelona to Rome is a 7 day cruise. It includes some of our favorite ports and also a few new ones on our list. We are including 3 extra days in Barcelona and Rome. This group is very helpful to us O newbies. Thanks to All. 😊

Thank y’all for trying to help me. I am happy with what I booked with the excursion credit. I saw the earlier comment about the 25% discount package and played around on the O site. That is how I saw the pricing glitch. This will be my first O cruise in January with another one booked in the summer Barcelona to Rome.

Thank you for trying to help me. O just sent me the Excursions PDF. It doesn’t look like a SM Shore Excursion Package is offered for my cruise.

Thank you. No, I didn’t receive an Excursion PDF with my booking, but I will request it now. The O Rep tried entering the new excursion for me, but the $298 total showed up on her end. That’s why she said it must be a glitch…. Something about the change from OL to SM. Funny thing is that the math worked out to the 25% discount once all 4 excursions priced together. First 3 were already purchased with the $800 credit and a little cash.

I have a SM booking with an $800 Shore excursion credit. I have booked 3 excursions so far to use up the credit. Yesterday I tried adding a 4th one online. The price came up in cart as $0 tour price for each of us (Shore Excursion Total $0). However, the cart total was $298 ($149 twice). I called O just now thinking that perhaps this is the 25% discount??? The O rep said my cruise doesn’t offer the 25% discount and the online number must be a glitch when they switched from OL to SM. Anyone else have this issue?

Hope this helps you. We were on the Viking Sea in July 2022 which docked at Fusina. I contacted (email) the ship directly (phone number and email in your cruise documents) to inquire where to go for embarkation. At that time, the cruise terminal at Maritima was used for check in and we were bused to the ship at Fusina ( commercial port). I wonder if Viking is doing the reverse for disembarkation? Viking Sea responded promptly to my inquiry.

We were on the Silhouette January 30 sailing and had a 6:45pm MDR reservation. We arrived a few minutes early and there was a single long line. I went up to the hostess to inquire if there was a separate check in line for reservations. She said no, only this one line. It took 45 minutes to get through the line and the same hostess now told me my reservation was cancelled as a no show. She then gave me a pager and told us to wait in the bar. My husband asked to speak to a manager. The manager eventually did seat us but said they were not honoring reservations tonight as it was a full cruise. Ridiculous.

The plate was not dirty. The lobster tail was presented in the shell where the smear is located. The waiter immediately removed the meat from the shell and placed it where you see it in the photo. The shell was then removed by the waiter. However, a little piece of the shell (by the rice) is still on the plate. I waited until the waiter left the area before taking the photo.

My lobster dinner from recent Silhouette cruise.

I would like to mention that I chose a standard balcony cabin. This pricing is much lower than Viking. If you select Aqua class or a Suite Retreat on Celebrity, the pricing is closer to Viking. Both Aqua and the suites have their own perks and dining rooms. They may also have more dinner entree options than the main dining room. I have been told that the Celebrity changes started in January.

Lobster tail …. I saw the waiter pull the lobster meat from the shell. I have not even taken a bite yet. It was tasty, but only 2 large bites or 3 small ones. The first lobster tail is free. The second one is $16.99.

I just completed my first Celebrity cruise and was not impressed. It was extremely crowded (2800 passengers). I was in a standard balcony cabin. Celebrity has reduced the number of entree choices in the Main Dining Room. No more filet, prime rib and or other pricier selections. Specialty restaurants are $50 per person up-charge. Hit or miss as to food taste. Small portion sizes. Buffet at breakfast and lunch is fine. However, not much at dinner… basically salad, pizza and dessert. Entertainment is very good. Outside performers brought in. Lots of music options. I much prefer Viking and their smaller ships. Here is a photo of my dinner on Lobster Night.

I purchased the voucher along with Basic for 2 devices. Only Basic showed up in onboard options. Two trips to the ilounge got the premium added for both devices at no additional charge.

I was on the Viking Sea in July. We boarded in Venice at the Cruise Terminal and then by bus to the Ship docked at Fusina. Fusina is a commercial port and individuals are not allowed into the area. No taxi pickups either. I had a question as to where to go as the Viking instructions were incorrect. I emailed the ship ( boarding email has the ship phone and email address) and they responded in a few hours. Viking is also switching ports at the last minute between Fusina and Chioggio.
