note the comma after 'electrical devices' and the comma after 'etc'.

I would suggest that you go to Guest Services and point it out to them that you require English Language.  It must be recorded somewhere in the HAL system that you are Dutch.

You will pay the difference in price of the drink plus the 18% gratuity on the difference.  e.g. drink is $15.  You pay $4 +18% = $4.72

The app did include a photo box on the screen for a while - as part of checkin procedures you could upload a head shot. The only time I did it was in the autumn of 2021 for an early November cruise. Maybe an effort to lessen face to face time with other humans having your photo taken at the pier? Remember, things were different as cruise lines emerged from Covid. I think there was also a system for uploading your white Covid vaccination card on the app.

Also in 2021/22 you could upload a picture to the app which shortened your boarding time as your only contact was with Facial Image Recognition device in the port.

A lot of the Spanish beaches (esp in Andalucia) are man made, with the sand being trucked in.

The credit to the onboard account would be in dollars and any refund back to a credit card would be in dollars with the bank processing the exchange at current rates.

Problem with a cheque is that when it is lodged to an account, the processing bank will probably send it 'for collection' and until the cheque clears the international banking system the payee will not receive the credit.  This can take another couple of weeks, depending on the drawing bank etc.

 

I don't think I would use a cruise for a beach itinerary.  Too many good beaches with great hotels accessed by cheap airfare to consider spending money on a cruise.

There was a dry dock in November 2023.  I think the stairs located forward of the casino were removed.  I don't remember hearing about any changes to cabins.

I posted the review on 4045 and, on mature reflection, it is probably the worst of the deck 4 staterooms as it is directly over the position where the Rock Room Drummer sits.  The drummer has an accoustic panel in front of the kit to muffle the sound, which probably directs the sound upwards instead of outwards.  If you go to bed early and are a light sleeper then you may have a problem in this room, but it does end most nights around midnight.

You have got a lot of advice already, but mostly from North Americans who do not realise it can be a bit different for European/UK persons arriving in MIA.

First thing is that data can be very expensive for us in North America, so that makes Uber/Lyft a little awkward, specially during the arrival window, when you are tired and even slightly disorientated.  

We have sailed numerous times from Port Everglades (the port in Fort Lauderdale) and used various transfer/hotel combinations.

Note that in all cases we were staying a few days pre cruise in the area and had at least 2 night in a hotel before boarding the ship.

What we have done:

1. Stay in a hotel in Fort Lauderdale (it is quite a few years since we did this as we find it the least enjoyable option.  We pre book a transfer with Larry's Limos to meet us at the arrivals area of MIA and transfer us to our hotel.  This is an expensive but very pleasant way to arrive to your hotel.  We always book a 'sedan', but have always been upgraded to SUV or even a stretch limo without extra charge.  The aircondition help our acclimatisation and the bottles of water etc are very welcome.  Ask them for a quote using the webchat on their website https://larryslimo.com/ I would expect that the transfer from MIA to Fort Lauderdale to be around $200 currently.  We then just take a taxi from the hotel to the ship on the embarkation morning.  Much more comfortable than the hotel shuttle and probably better value (hotel shuttle is per person whereas taxi is per vehicle).  

2. Stay in a hotel in Miami.  We actually stay out near Sweetwater for Dolphin Mall and retail therapy 😱.  We take a taxi from airport to hotel and then have Larry's collect us the morning of the cruise and take us directly to the cruise terminal in Port Everglades.  Again I would expect this to be around the $200 mark.

 

We have never used Uber/Lyft but if you are a user, you should be able to use your hotel wifi to call the car on embarkation morning.

 

For your return the ship will probably offer transfer to MIA or a tour of Miami or the Everglades with transfer to the airport, depending on you flight departure time.

 

You say you have a hotel booked 'between Miami and Fort Lauderdale'.  What hotel have you booked?  It may make a difference to the logistics.

Yes, there is passport control as you move to airside and leave Netherlands.
