  1. The UPD definitely covers lunch for whichever restaurant(s) is open on embarkation day. If you are in a suite, have the Concierge make your UDP reservations prior to boarding. If you are not in a suite, just go directly to any specialty restaurant and make all of reservations at once. No, the UDP does not include room service.
  2. Then there would just be a bunch of naked cats slinkin’ around on stage….maybe that would make it more interesting !?
  3. UGH. I would hate this. I think those shutters are hideous. Why ????
  4. 4/14/24 EX will go to PDCC vs Labadee. The best part about this change is that there will now be a sea day between the 2 port of call (the other PoC will be Falmouth).
  5. I will join with the others who say that they have had few, if any, real issues with MTD. The only negative (if you feel it is a negative) is that you might not get the same table and/or wait staff on any given night, but that is a plus to me, not a negative. I have no particular need to have the same wait staff, night after night. There has only been one instance since the restart, where there was a real delay in being seated and I don't even recall which ship it was. But for the most part, the delay/line has been minimal and I much prefer a dining time around 6:30 than one at 5:00 or 8:00.
  6. One thing to keep in mind...but it doesn't sound like it will apply to you....once you get off the ship, you will not be able to get back on until the ship begins reboarding. IOW, you cannot get off and get right back on. Sounds like you will be spending some time away from the ship, so this shouldn't affect you....just something to keep in mind.
  7. Congratulations on making D ! It's a great hurdle to surpass. If you are talking about the self-service coffee machines in the Crown Lounge, yes, it is all self service. No one to tip unless you just want to tip the folks who come and go during the day, servicing the machine and food area. Access to the Crown Lounge (and therefore, to the coffee machine) is 24 hours. It's never "closed"...however, please note that the machine is NOT serviced during the late/early hours and is often out of service due to needing to have the grounds dumped and/or needing to have beans added or needing milk. All of those supplies are locked up so once the machine goes "down" for whatever reason, it will stay down until staff come in the next morning to get it all up and running again.
  8. It's kinda hard to imagine a Beastie Boys song from a lone guitarist. It must have been interesting....
  9. This was my interpretation as well.
  10. You can definitely request the same Genie. I feel that if they gave that Genie all 3 of those rooms, this would probably be his/her only SC guests but who knows....
  11. We were in the GPS on OA a few years ago. It is an awesome suite ! ...the nicest one we have ever stayed in...realizing that we have never stayed in any Royal suite, much less a RLS. The GPS is HUGE. The balcony is a bit disappointing - it's very narrow - but it was more than adequate for us. One caution - it can get VERY noisy out on the balcony as the noise from the pool deck seems to drive straight up to that suite. Other than that.....enjoy it !
  12. Thanks. I meant to erase my question (since I saw that you are on OA when I re-read your post) so apologize.
  13. Genies are just people....so you get some good ones and a few that may not meet your expectations. Which ship will you be on, @theycallmedp ? I think you will find that the vast majority will be in your category #1 - overachievers. I have never personally heard anyone say that their Genie was "hard to find"....not saying it hasn't happened, of course. I do think that the Genies are relying more, these days, on the WhatsApp and that this can make the service seem a bit more impersonal but frankly, it is pretty rare for anyone to have a request denied by a Genie. They go out of their way to make their passengers happy so it's rare for them to say "no". Have some of the "rules" changed over the years ? Yes. Currently Oasis has some of the best Genies in the fleet. I don't think you will have any issues at all.
  14. ...and some non-connecting cabins have love-sea size sofas/hideabeds. We were recently on Radiance in a 1D balcony room. Not only did it have a loveseat-sized sofa (which would have pulled out for a single bed if we had needed it) but it also had an obstructed view. We were not at all happy with this room.
  15. Thanks. Same as last week. Good to know since there are a few MORE Pinns on this week than there were last week.
  16. IMO the best part of this letter is the part where they claim they will advise Pinns 48 hours prior to embarkation if there are going to be any restrictions to the SL. They have never given any advance notice up until now. It would be nice if they begin doing that. At least you’d have some “hint” that you may be excluded. This does seem to be a puzzling change, with the recent emphasis on DE-crowding (I know that’s not a real word) the SL/CK. It just seems to unnecessarily complicate an existing problem.
  17. Andrew, do you know if they are still allowing the Pinnacles unlimited (except for breakfast) access to the SL/CK ? Last week there were 74 of us and they didn't restrict us...just wondering if that is still the case (I see there are 81 this week). Thanks !
  18. Have you tried getting one of the day beds on the suites' sun deck ? Since I'm not a sun person I have never even considered it but I wondered how hard it is to get one....and whether the Genie can help out.
  19. Too lazy to go back and find/quote the post about the roving piano guy...but I find it to be truly annoying when he/she ? is in an elevator. I've seen people RUSH to get into the elevator with the piano guy but you will see me running in the opposite direction. I think they're a nuisance.🤪
