  1. Hi, we are leaving on the Escape Saturday. Concerned about my onboard credit, would like to clear it up before then. We originally were booked for an inside room, and got $25 per person OB credit from Norwegian. We booked through expedia and got $100 credit for the stateroom. When I look under my vacation summary, it shows the $50 from Norwegian, and $100 under gifts purchased and more. Ok, so now we have been upgraded to a balcony, wondering if we get anymore OB credit because of that? We bid $80 per person and got it. So now when I print my edocuments, I see

$50 per cabin credit, promo code AM050 quantity 1

Free on board credit certificate, $25 promo code OB25, quantity 2

It also shows my prepaid service charges, and drink promo, but not the $100 from expedia. Did I get another $50 from Norwegian? Does anyone know what promo code AM050 is? I did print out my vacation summary that shows the credit from expedia to bring with me. We leave tonight, ship sails Saturday!!

    Any insight anyone?

  2. Sorry..Last minute and on my phone..Which searching isn't easy. The 7 night escape. Is there a formal night? Wondering if acceptable for men to wear nice jeans to dining room?? Thanks for some quick answers

  3. Hi everyone, looking for a snorkeling excursion from the Escape in April. I found a price for a boat called the fury, and it sounds just like what NCL has advertised, but it is $10 less. But there is another snorkeling excursion that looks really good on NCL's website, Powercat snorkle and beach. This looks really good as well, and is alittle longer, and the same price. The reviews (only 6) were good. Just wondering if anyone else has been on it, don't want to be packed like sardines, but really interested in it. Anyone??

As suggested, I did read the reviews, but like I said there were only 6 of them. I think I will go with the Fury, I know from experience you are moved along like cattle and usually on each other's laps with the ship excursions. The Fury seems to have gotten some good reviews. Thanks everyone!.

  5. They are providing the shuttle from the cruise port? Please let me know how that goes. Also, looking at the Shoreexcursioneer website, I think someone mentioned above, tour the ship wreck, or movie site and possible sharks. So That is a 35 minute ride from the pier. They state that the afternoon tours will leave and head back to pier at 5:00 to 5:45. That's a pretty wide window, and with a "35 minute ride" back to pier, do you think we would be safe for a 7 PM sailing from the pier?

  6. I am following this, we sail on Norwegian Escape on April 22 and would like to do a snorkeling excursion. I am going to look up the ones suggested, including the flying cloud to Rose Island looked good, my only concern is We are in nassau from noon till 7 PM. They have a half day leaving paradise Island at 2 PM, I believe we wouldn't have an issue getting there for that. It states it is 3.5 hours, So we would get back to Paradise Island by 5:30. Do you have to take a water taxi from Paradise Island, or can you take a taxi, and how long would that take, as our ship leaves at 7 PM

  7. another question. We originally were thinking of doing the baths when our ship landed in St. Thomas, but the private boat owner we were considering hiring said we would have to go through customs and pay $50. We have since figured out that Tortola is much closer, why not wait till this day to see the baths....So i am just curious, because we are already docked in Tortola, getting off the ship isn't an issue? I can't imagine they want $50, what about going through customs, what about a passport? We have a member in our group that doesn't have a passport. Is this a problem in Tortola at all?

  8. ok, so trying to get this straight, for lounging I guess during the day, The Vibe will cost you $100, there is a hot tub but no pool, and is adult only. Then you have the spice H20 which is adult only as well, no pool, but a waterfall type of thing to cool off with. Then you have the main pool, where you actually have a pool! Also, does the Spice H20 turn into dancing and music at night? When does Vibe close, or is that open at night also, considering you paid $100 for the week?

  9. I don't know about the dry dock for the ship. Another thing I forgot to mention, which has never happened before. I never met the room steward! Usually, if I remember, don't they make a point to introduce themselves?? Never saw him or her. Did their job well, but never met them. Isn't that strange?

  10. Just off the Sky, I will give a short review. My boyfriend and I, both 51, and our first cruise with Norwegian. I have sailed previously with Carnival Victory and the Breeze, and Royal's Majesty of the Seas and the Enchantment. Well, I thought the ship was a little lack luster. I know it's a smaller ship, as I have sailed smaller ships before. But nothing "wowed" me on this cruise. This is also the first cruise for the SKY where alcohol was included for everyone. Sometimes it seemed to be a problem getting served because of this. Some bar areas, such as the pool, have designated lines for ordering. Some other bars, such as in the Longboard, had bartenders that were very unfamiliar with the layout of the bar. I had to point to where the bottle of Vanilla vodka was, and then point to the refrigerator where I knew they kept the Chambord. They had a hard time keeping up. But I was impressed that I didn't see any guest out of control from too much alcohol, which was surprising, cause they didn't take count of how much you ordered. You weren't asked to show your card. The other thing was consistency.... a Cosmopolitan ordered one place was made entirely different at another. We were told by the pool bar "no shots are allowed anywhere on the boat" when my boyfriend was getting them the night before at Captain Cook's bar...in fact he got four of them at a time. The pool bar would also not serve more than two drinks to a guest in line, where Captain Cook's gave my boyfriend four shots and 2 drinks to bring back to the table.

The food: Well, we ate at the buffet in the Garden Café twice for dinner, once for lunch and once for breakfast. The food was ok. I will say just ok. I didn't see the variety I have seen before on other ships. The main problem was the temperature of the food. It was barely warm. I like my food hot, and this was a problem for me. The main dining room for breakfast one day was great. We had eggs benedict. Dinner was night was really not good at all. The smoked pork tenderloin was very tough and once again, mediocre temperature. The braised beef over pasta was ok. Once again, really could have been hotter. I also had the veal cordon bleu, which was very dry, no sauce, and not hot at all. My boyfriend also had a type of white fish, he said was ok. The second time in the main dining room was much better. We both had the Prime rib, and I must say it was excellent, great temperature, and steaming hot baked potatoe. We also shared a calamari dish that was average. Also, would like to note that if you go to the Garden café, which is to the left of the pool towards the back of the ship, if you continue and walk through to the open area in the back, the same food is located at the Great outdoor café, with much shorter lines! Especially helpful on embarkment day, and at breakfast if you would like an omelet made, or toast.

We saw the Rock show. The band was really good, played a lot of 80's music. We didn't see any other shows. We did some music trivia twice,

I knew not to be disappointed, as I had read before hand that they have been cancelling the stop at Stirrup Cay, and yup....they did. I was still very disappointed. But we had a sea day instead, and the weather was fabulous, as it hadn't really been that good for the prior days. We had the rainiest day ever at Nassau, and only about 70 degree weather at Freeport.

Another point, The longboard café, the freestyle daily says they serve food starting at 6 pm. Well, one day, we were told no. The next day we went back at 11:30 pm, and we ordered and questioned about the 6 PM thing. He stated that they serve buffalo wings at 6 pm only, (another inconsistency) Also, how was one to know they even had food. We asked for a menu, the bartender said they were on the tables. There were no menus on the table at all. Once again, we asked the bartender and we received the menu. I must say, the food was awesome! We had buffalo wings to die for, and fish and chips. And the food was HOT! But the inconsistencies again, showed themselves.

That's all I can think of for now. I did save the freestyle daily for the four days, I will have to see how I can go about scanning them. Any questions, I would be glad to answer them.

  11. Ok, leaving for Fort Myers for New years eve, Miami for a day for the Patriots game!! and then jumping on the Sky for the Bahamas Jan 4th. My bedroom looks like a tornado went off! My main concern is the cruise. I absolutely hate being cold, can anyone who has been to the Bahamas, or on the Sky lately let me know what the temperature is like.....mostly concerned about the dining room at night, the White party outside on the deck. Will I be cold with a short dress? Will I be hot with leggings or long pants? What about the entertainment and night club afterwards? Is the AC on? Any help would be appreciated! I can't take everything.

  12. Hi, our ship leaves Nassau at 6, next week. not really into spending the money for the water slides there. Is it worth it to take the water taxi there? I ready that you can't get far into the resort anymore, is that true? I was there years ago, and we managed to walk right into one of the aquariums and down onto a beach (maybe a fluke?) So wondering if it is worth the trip with pass or plans.
