  1. starting to get nervous about my cabin 4207 on the sky, after looking more closely at the deck plans, wondering if it will be noisy, as we are right under the shore excursions desk of deck 5. We aren't early risers. I am also noticing, is the panoramic elevator right outside out cabin door? Anyone at all familiar with this area?

  2. sorry, just read that more closely. Where would I buy corks? So you mean, pull the cork out of the bottle and put in a new one? But would it be tight enough to travel? Actually thinking i might be best to match the bottle I just did, same wine, same sleeve and see if I can convince my sister to carry it on for me, LOL! :p

  3. Why not just buy a bottle with a cork? Then you replace the cork and then put the shrink wrap on. You can buy a corker and corks for under $10.[/quote

Cause for one thing, I don't have a cork opener, LOL. And I wasn't sure how tight it would hold, as I am traveling by plane to Miami, and it will be in my luggage. Hmmm, I did by mistake buy a bottle of wine with a cork the first time. I still do have it. Would it be safe to travel in my suitcase recorked, if I could borrow a cork opener and reseal it? I have one more sleeve, and I was going to go buy another bottle of the wine with the screw top.

  5. well i tried one last night, it's not a corked bottle. It is a screw top, and you know how that top separates from the little ring of metal, and leaves that on. So I sort of kept that ring on there, kept it tight with the screw cap, and then used one of those sleeves with a cap attached. I might have said, my friend bottles her on liquer, and has these. You then dunk it in boiling water and it shrink wraps it, so to speak. Looks good, except for if they were looking to find something wrong, they could look very closely at the screw "connection" there with the piece of metal left behind. But it sounds like they don't really just pick them up and thoroughly inspect them too closely? So afraid of being caught! I would totally do the alcohol program, but my two roommates aren't big drinkers:mad: Oh, I put some red food coloring in it, so it does look like a pink moscato, as labeled. LOL. Anyone else tried this, failed? Succeeded? Leaving Sunday!!

  6. Has anyone ever brought on their allowable bottle of wine. Just wondering how closely the seal is inspected. Has anyone replaced the wine with alcohol and gotten away with it? Or caught? I have those sleeve and cap things that you stick under boiling water and it looks professionaly sealed. Just not sure about the screw part that separated. How closely do they look at the wine bottle? Can anyone tell me?

  8. Hi, very excited, eight of us leaving on Sunday. A few questions for those who might have just gotten back.....is there a special white night or disco night on the 6 night itinerary? Also, anyone recently in that area we are going, ocho Rios, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel....wondering how is the weather at night? On the deck, on the ship? Will shorts be ok, dress. Was it alittle chilly, need a sweater inside, or outside? Thanks for any help!

  9. ok, trying to get this straight. I will be on the Breeze, and February 12th we made reservations to swim with the dolphins, not booked through ship. Is there a time change involved traveling from Grand Cayman to Cozumel? Our reservations are at noon. Trying to not screw this up! Thanks.

  10. next week six of us are staying at the "Best Miami Hotel" in South Miami for $86 per room, has free shuttle from Miami airport to the hotel, and free shuttle next day to the cruise port! I will let you know how it is. I am thinking it's not the best for $86. But that price is right up my alley!!

  11. ok, so another question. I also am looking to rent a minivan for the day after the cruise ship lands in POM. If I were to get an awesome deal on priceline, and need to take a cab to the airport to get the van, would I be best leaving my 5 travelmates behind at POM, getting the van and coming back for them? This is assuming that I don't get a company that has a shuttle from POM. Is this possible, for me to leave, and then get back into the port? I am just thinking transportation wise, it would be cheaper for just me to get to the airport, if no shuttle is provided. Also, if I get a company that has a shuttle, and will shuttle us from POM to the airport, will they shuttle all five of us?? One more thing...how far of a ride is it to the airport, versus the downtown location for a rental. Although it sounds like the downtown location gets overwhelmed....wondering the time difference in driving...

  13. I have reservations for two rooms at the "Best Miami Hotel" for February 7th. Because I am footing alot of the bill, I found them because they offer free shuttle from the airport, and then to the cruise port in Maimi the next day. With taxes, it came to about $86 per room.

  14. we went to blue hole in December. It was really a "brown hole". It had been raining for days, including the time we were there, and the waterfalls were brown, the current was rough. But despite that, the guides did their tricks, and jumped off very high branches into the water. They eventually got most of the crowd involved and jumping off, and into the water. They worked hard getting the crowd involved and interested in jumping into the brown hole! My boyfriend tends to over tip anyway, but he was impressed by their enthusiasm, and left $30. They pass around one big bucket that all the guides share. Because eventually the guide that helps you get down there, gets involved in doing his own tricks!

  15. so to clarify....."Carnival doesn't adjust their times" when the itinerary says we will be in Cozumel from 10 am to 6 pm, are we really arriving at noon "cozumel time"??? I am talking about this February.....?

  16. We were just at Mr. Sanchos' last Wednesday, Jan 7. There was 6 of us and we arrived without reservations, no problem. We were given a table under an umbrella and had waiter service all day. We did the ala carte program and 2 drinks, 7-8 sodas/waters, and 6 meals ran us $113, which I didn't think was bad. A van taxi from the port for the 6 of us was $34 each way. I think for 2 it was around $20 each way.

Check how many ships are in port that day, and gauge it from there. We only had 4 ships in port that day.

One thing I will note for families, the water toys (trampoline, ice berg, water slide, etc) ARE NOT designed for children younger than 13-14 years old. It is VERY difficult to get up onto them. I had my twin grandchildren with me, aged 11, and they were barely able to use them, and only with my assistance to get onto them. IMHO, it was a total waste of the money to purchase the wrist bands.

So, if going there without the all inclusive option, did they charge you to get in? What were you limited to with not paying all inclusive? i couldn't see a price on their website. i did see the ala carte menu. Could you use pool, kayaks? umbrellas?
