  1. So I was curious, what is the policy if you are signed up through the ship to do an excursion, such as a beach day, or river tubing, and it is a very rainy day. Can you cancel even if the excursion is going to go on, and get a refund? What if you booked through a local on the island? Has this ever happened to anyone?

  2. So, I took a lot of your advice, didn't book 11 am flight, waited, and the prices went down for our Feb 8th cruise on the Breeze. However, our flight doesn't leave MIA until 6:20 pm. There are going to be 5 or 6 of us, I am thinking of renting a mini van after we get off the ship to explore Miami for the day. This will also assist us in having a place for our luggage. Does anyone have any idea if there is a rental place near the Port??

  3. All I know is, Dec 1st sailing on Royal Caribbean, we didn't pay attention to the guidelines of where to show up....we slept late, went to windjammer for breakfast (we each had a piece of large luggage, and personal backpack. We just went down and out of the ship when ready....and just blended in with everyone else. We had a 3 pm flight, and really just wanted to get off the ship late. They didn't check our zone, or deck number..we just walked off. Is it different on Carnival???

  4. thanks folks. I just called carnival. I guess I need to call my TA in the morning, I booked it using some reward points. After speaking with the agent at Carnival, she suggested the same thing, just book the three new people in a larger ocean view ( I like the idea of the two sinks, I think someone mentioned Superior ocean view?) and just switch around our sleeping arrangements when we get there. But.....the only issue is, the alcohol program. My daughter and her friends wish to purchase that. So that can get confusing if I have my older friend booked in the room with her two younger friends (of course switch sleeping arrangements) but everyone in the room must buy the program! So that could screw up things with their credit cards, and seapasses....as far as Becky really coming into the room with the older folks, and Carly really going to the room with the younger folks. Carly would need Becky's seapass......oh geez....guess that wouldn't work.....unless......they agreed to switch names and identities, and paid each other's credit cards at the end? OMG.....does anyone get this???

  5. I am not very experienced with Carnival. I originally booked before that 35 hour sale and got a total price of $1023 for three in inside room on Breeze for February 8th. I am trying to get another room for my daughter's friends, and the price was alot higher. With the 24 hour sale today, the price is still up... $1185. I am thinking of doing a 24 hour hold like someone suggested. But as it nears, do you feel the price will drop??? Because I would like to also upgrade the inside room I currently hold to a larger room, but not at these prices.

  6. Hi, usually travel Royal Caribbean, but on Carnival Breeze in February. I am trying to add some people to our cruise, and hopefully get a larger inside room than I currently have, three adults. The site is different than Royal, as when I select inside room, I don't have different catagories to choose from. Can anyone tell me, are all inside roooms with two twins and the pulldown beds? Do you need a port or ocean view to get a sofa sleeper? I am thinking the inside room with pulldown bed will be small for three adult woman. Any opinions? Also, hoping this won't be an issue, but I originally booked this inside room with my daughter and sister. My daughter now has two friends who are going to book. I am hoping I can get the friends in an inside room and move my daughter to their room. I am then hoping I can get another adult friend to book in the room with my sister and I, and hopefully upgrading to a bigger room. Does anyone think this will be an issue? Hope someone can understand my mumbo jumbo! Thanks!

  7. Hi, same situation here in February, but there are 5 of us. Are there any LARGE taxis?? Also, just recently cruised out of Port Everglades, only two of us, were going to grab a cab, but found an independent shuttle company for $12 pp. Anyone have any idea if those are just hanging around waiting outside of Miami port??

  8. I was also on this cruise that departed Fort Lauderdale on 12/1. There was a Quest show on the last night, and it was hilarious! As the other poster stated, Savannah Jack, I believe the name of the band, was great! As well as the show "In the Air" lots of trapeze and air stunts. There was music trivia two different nights at least in the Schooner bar. There was a White Night party on the pool deck. Formal night was the second night. The last night Lobster tails and prime rib were on the menu!

  9. Just off the sailing Dec 1st to 6th. I must say my boyfriend and I, both 50, had a great time. This is the largest ship I have sailed, having sailed Majesty in 2012 and Enchantment before expansion in 2005. I also sailed on Carnival's Victory.

A couple of things I noticed, wasn't quite impressed with the cleanliness of the cabin. The draws had some debris and even a piece of hair. The shelves in the bathroom vanity hadn't been wiped either. The rug could have been vacuumed a little better before our arrival. And there was a big smudge of something, unknown, at eye level on the inside of the cabin door.

The other complaint I have, was that there was definitely a need for another bartender at both the pool bar and especially the casino bar. There was a constant wait for drinks at both of those places. One sea day, waiters were pretty non existent around the pool area also. One bartender at the pool bar was not exactly pleasant either. This was noticed by my boyfriend and I on two different days, and we were the only customers!

I also wish they had a deli of some sort on the ship. The sandwiches offered by Sorrento pizza were usually of only one variety a day, and nothing to rave about at all. The little bite size sandwiches at the coffee shop, consisted of a piece of meat and if you were lucky, a piece of lettuce.

Something else to be aware of...not that I am complaining, because I am always cold and hate being cold. The ship was constantly warm. The dining room, the clubs, the casino. Actually, some AC would have been nice. I wore small sundresses at night and was never ever cold!

Despite the sailing day crappy weather, and the next sea day crappy weather, and the downpours at Ocho Rios, all in all it was a good cruise. It was my boyfriend's first and he was amazed! Any questions?

  10. Hahaha, I did that once before, after sitting on an upper deck away from the pool and having noticed two empty chairs for almost two hours. My husband I then decided to go down, and remove the items. Nicely placed them down on the floor and occupied the chairs. Would you believe....another TWO HOURS later, a gentleman comes by and states that this was his chair. I kindly informed him that I had been occupying the chairs for two hours now! Well that was the end of that. He gathered his belongings and left! LOL!! BTW, boarding the Liberty in two more days! Woohooo!
