How dressy do the women get for formal nights?

    Thank you

Last night was many ladies in slacks, a couple of dresses.  One woman wore a hoodie in the MDR.  Amazing.

Any information on precisely what is happening at dry dock for the Wind would be appreciated as we have approx sixty days booked for 2019 on our favou4ite SS ship.

According to CD & HD, a lot of drydock devoted to behind the scenes mechanical systems, but a major update to the suites & public areas to museify them. No plans to cloudify the wind at this point.

  3. I will post the menus tomorrow.  Drydock will be comprehensive with new furniture in public areas, suites update and sounds like the Wind will be cloudified to replaced the leased Discoverer.

  4. Not that dressy.   Saw a handful with long dresses, but quite a few were much more casual.  However, we dined with the finance officer & and the guest relations manager, so I did not pay close attention.  Tomorrow is the 2nd of 2 formal nights, so I will pay closer attention.  They did enforce men’s dress code on formal night - I.e., jacket & tie.  I have scanned in Chronicles, menus, premium wine list, etc.  Let me know if you would like to see any of these items.

  5. We are on until 11/15.  A couple of problems with ports - missed Newport, 6 hours late into Halifax, but overnight & Sydney cancelled.  All is fine so far great food & service, very good complimentary wines,  etc.  A little trouble with suite temp - either too cold or too warm, trying to get thermostat setting just right.  Occasionally the toilet stops working, but then a little later - it flushes by itself.  About 8 workers on board from Callenberg.com who are probably on board for HVAC work for the upcoming drydock.  Let me know if you have any other questions.

  6. My DW concluded that they will hold the cocktail/canapes part in the grand lobby and then move to the banquet hall for the dinner part or just hold everything in the grand lobby.  Way different from recent gala events.  At the end of last year's WC, we got conflicting numbers, ranging around 220 to 240 regarding the number of WCs.

  7. Our second SS cruise leaves in 80+ days, and I am afraid it might be our last. It is sad to hear of some of the already declining service/food reports, but this is kind of the "nail in the coffin" for Silversea's loyal customers. I know only time will tell, but I have never enjoyed my cruises on Royal and that is partly why the move to Silversea. I think we will be looking at more luxury based land vacations or private yachting experiences in the future.

Suggest you read Emperor Norton's commentary about his Seabourn Sojourn cruise.

  8. Interesting, but not surprising. I doubt we will see any difference for quite some time. Seabourn sits quite happily under Carnivore.

With 500 days on Seabourn, we have seen a steady degradation of service and quality as Seabourn's rapid expansion (600 guests to nearly 2,600) and being subject to "publicly traded" corporation rules vis-a-vis being a privately held company has not been so good IMO. Once the corporate bean counters get involved .....
