Too many repetitive ports and travels are East to West, so lots of lost hours. Most WCs travel West to East. Only way East to West works is if you can convince Captain to set clocks ahead in the afternoon like I was able to on the Sojourn in May 2017.

Sophie told me last spring on the Sojourn crossing to Alaska that she & Claudio were going house hunting in Portugal during their upcoming vacation.

What Seabourn offers that is far superior as far as I am concerned is their international staff. They are in the main far more outgoing, friendly, confident, and resourceful than the staff we encountered on Silver Whisper last fall. Maybe it was something about “that” cruise, but the feeling was flat. The only warmth and depth of relationships I found were with 3 assistant Maitres d’Hotel, our butler, and in the Bar a Filipina server and the bartender.
We are not happy with the Sojourn MDR wine service and I have made my explanations. And the internet in the South Atlantic and Indian Ocean was fair at best and less satisfactory than on Quest in Antarctica the previous month. But between Whisper and Sojourn we have little to discuss. The Whisper is tired, the Panorama Bar and La Terrazza especially. Sojourn’s (and Odyssey’s and Quest’s) space per passenger, layout eg 5 jacuzzis vs 2, far more outdoor space and seating for dining and recreation, and that social life vibe (where are Silverseas’ senior officers and does Silversea have anyone like CD Sophie and such a wide range of activities?) makes Seabourn our ongoing line of choice.
So we are counting on a far more satisfactory MDR wine service on our next cruise which is on Odyssey!
Happy and healthy sailing!
You should try one or mot legs of the WC as the CD is Fernando, very amazing, the HD is Norman, and the staff is amazing. We find the food better, and the service very good. Plus the Pommery and Monopole champagne is far better than Seabourn Nicholas. The Whisper has been updated and is going to undergo another extensive drydock this fall. After nearly 500 days on Seabourn I am not sure we will return.

Don’t have this problem on SS. Sommelier, Asst Sommelier, and lots on wine stewards.

I think you might be surprised. We are on th current WC and there are only 109 guests. Next year, that rises greatly to 240 and with the excitement about 2020, I would not be surprised if that number does rise to around 300 or so. We are signed up for both years.
-
We are on the Whisper WC and heard the same news about departure on the 10th from several staff and a couple of officers to include the HD. They must have gotten bad info.
-
We are on the Whisper WC. Just announced tours are going via tender. Since we are scheduled to leave at 6 PM, doubt we will dock at all today. Hope all turns ok for those WC’s on the Navigator.

Forgot to mention that the Observation lounge has a self service coffee machine that operates 24/7 except in rough weather. They have both regular and decaf pods along with a selection of teas and milk is in the frig below.

Sorry, I should have phrased the question a little better ... does Silversea now have a coffee bar that offers custom made coffee products to go ?
My original reference to Starbucks was intended as a concept rather than the actual physical coffee product.
We are on the Whisper WC. The bars (panorama, patio, and the main bar) all have coffee machines and they can make espresso, americano, latte, and cappuccino. Not sure what else they can make. Hope this helps.

There is a separate price list for laundry & at the top it states $50 per bag.

At the 2020 WC presentation, I believe they said they would be on deck at the stern. They may also put a couple at the front of the ship as I believe there are some cranes up. Will have to check. I believe that the changes will probably occur during the December dry dock along with other rehabs. Looks like she will be in dry dock for around two weeks. Apparently many guests were not happy with the previous drydock (end of 2016) so they did some additional in service work last Nov and scheduled another drydock at the end of 2018.

Attached is a scan from our 2015 Odyssey cruise. We were on the Sojourn in April/May 2017 and I believe there had not been much change. Thought I had a scan from this cruise, but all I have is a scan of the laundry slip.

Attached is the itinerary that we received in our suite on this year's WC. Apparently, the 2019 WC has 240 guests doing the entire WC. Final pricing supposed to be out on 3/27. Reservations limited to 2019 WC guests have 1st priority, 2018 guests have 2nd priority and then Venetian Society members with 100 days or more. Open to everyone else about the same date as final pricing.

Actually, Seabourn & Silversea have the best loyalty programs.
-
Yes - we are currently on Whisper WC in a Vista - two vanities.
-
My phone, iPhone SE, has WiFi calling capability. Therefore, we are able to make calls using the ship’s WiFi at no cost.
-
We are on the Whisper WC now - jollyjones is correct - one US and one European plug at vanity at foot of the bed and at the desk. However, there is a European plug next to the bed on both sides of the bed that the lamps on the night stands plug into.
-
We are on the Whisper WC. Capacity is 386 guests and for the first leg we had only 270 guests with 110 on for the full WC. Forty five disembarked in Papeete with 120 joining.

DCCruiser57 - Thank you for the information. Just one more question - is Norman the HD?
We are getting excited as we board in a little over 4 weeks. So much to do between now and then. Hope you enjoy all those sea days. It is in the high teens in the DC area right now.
Yes, Norman is the HD. Let me know if there are any other questions. Tomorrow is Hilo & then we have 5 sea days until Moorea.
Silver Spirit Nightmare. Do they care?

I strongly recommend that everyone read Emperor Norton experience on the Seabourn Sojourn. Construction on the pool deck, patio bar and grill closed for several days, poor service and bad attitude. Poor quality food. Ran out of drink swizzle sticks/stirrers.
Everyone has a bad day/week/cruise.
