Thanks did this added everyone in our party of 12 but now it shows no time slots available.  Is that due to having 12 people?

Probably.  They don’t have tables for 12.  We squeezed 10 once years ago but they had to make a special table top.  Two tables for 6 in the same section would be the way to go.  This would need to be requested on board.  There isn’t a way to do it on the app.

Thank you for the help.  Every dining room for every day and time says "No available time slots for this date". I'm hoping things will be easier once on board?

@happy2bee  When is your cruise?  They are changing the dining rooms to include different dining types (i.e. traditional, anytime, reservations) for cruises that sail after mid Sept. (don’t remember exact date).  You can’t book these until June 17th.
If it’s before that period then you can wait and discuss with a dining room manager on the first day if you continue to have problems.  It may be because you are booking for a large group and there are no large tables available in the app.  This does not mean you won’t get one once on board.

I'm booked to cruise in August.   I've downloaded the app and completed the registration but I can't add my cruise onto the app.   I have a compatable iPhone.   Each time I try to add a journey I get the message internal server error.   I've deleted the app and reinstalled it.   I've switched my phone off and on again and still keep getting the same message.

Has this happened to anyone else?   Does anyone have any tips?   I've only paid the deposit so far so could that be the reason.   I've managed to fill in some details online but I prefer working with an app if possible.

@Valentina69  You can’t add a cruise into the app yourself.  Your bookings will appear automatically in the app anywhere from 2-3 days after you have booked them.

if it has been longer than that and the cruise still doesn’t appear when you log in with your id and password, try logging into the app with the booking number.  There could be a disconnect with personal information as seems to be happening with @upwarduk.

This might be about to change. Take a look at the latest carnival shareholder benefit page

    https://www.carnivalcorp.com/shareholder-information/shareholder-benefit

    and note this line

" This benefit is non-transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash and cannot be used for casino credits/charges and gratuities charged to your onboard account."

@stephenSJ The benefit page has said this for as long as I can remember (and that’s a long time lol). It means nothing,  What others have said is correct.  All charges net against all OBC in your folio.  No differentiation.

Reserve dining cannot be overridden to MDR as far as I know. Anyone can book specialty dining regardless of MDR status except for full suites where embarkation night is guaranteed and booked once you board through the dine line or concierge where available

There is a selection for “SD or MDR” when you go to “add reservation” for a particular date/time that is why I was asking them to try it.  I have used the SD choice to book crown grill which overrides my night at reserve, but haven’t tried the MDR choice since I don’t have others to dine with.  It’s worth a try to see if it works.

The problem is that the reservations are made on the APP and since we have Reserve Dining the APP sez "You have Reserve, You don't need any stinkin reservations". (I may have mis-quoted).

I have called Princess and their representative had no answer.

@no1superfan  I believe you can override the reserve dining, otherwise you would never be able to pre book a specialty restaurant.  I think you will need to do each day separately.

When you click on dining, pick a date and time, then it will ask you to pick specialty or main dining.  You can also, click on the heart to go into your reservations and choose add a reservation, which when done will cancel the existing one.  I think from there it will do what you want.  I have never followed all the way through (in this new app) so I don’t know where it goes from there.  Let us know if it works.

Also, at some point there is a little man icon with a + sign in the upper right corner where you can add guest booking numbers.

I haven’t been on the board in some time and have likely missed lots of discussions about recent changes and changes to benefits of booking with Princess cruises so I could have missed this. If so, I apologize but I did search and could not find recent info on deposits.

This morning we received an email from Princess about a promo for this weekend only whereby select voyages require only a $99 deposit. I’ve search and searched and can’t find anything detailing whether this deposit is refundable in the event of a cancellation. Anyone know the answer?  By it not clearly stating it IS refundable I imagine I can guess the answer but perhaps not.

    Thanks

If you do a mock booking up to the point where it shows the total price it shows the deposit as fully refundable.

Issue #4:  I add in specialty dining for 4 people, and my charge is zero.  Should be charged for 2 people.

When you book online for people without the specialty dining credit they use the credits from the people that do.  Since 2 of you had 2 credits each they used all 4 that you had so you haven’t any more.  The 2 people who didn’t have the credit owe you a dinner. 😂. You probably can work it out on board, but you won’t be able to book any more specialty dining pre cruise for free.

Do not understand previous comment as the way you have currently booked sharing parent with son would be the way to have the ‘adults’ buy plus and not have passenger2 as they are under 21, the drinking age for Princess.

@wallyj  Sorry but this is incorrect.  Passengers 1&2 both have to buy the package if one wants it, regardless of age. The underage passenger would get the zero alcohol package but the price would be same to include crew appreciation and wifi.  That’s why it was suggested to have both adults in one room.

Will our passports not being good for 6 mos from embarkation date be a problem?

I believe the rule is 6 months from the END of the cruise. See below clipped from Princess FAQ’s

    Passport validity

Many countries require passports be valid for six months after the completion of your travel.

So I checked my email again and didn't see anything about winning the bid. So then I logged into the PlusGrade site to see if my bid had been accepted and it still showed as pending.

@JamieLogical  If you are happy with your room assignment you may want to cancel your bid as you will be moved automatically (unless you will be happier in the room you bid for).  You don’t get to refuse an accepted bid.

Yes, i have them in my cruise companions. So i see them in the list to add it. I was able to for the first 3 days delete my existing reservations (just my guest and I) and rebook with my parents. But then suddenly on the 4th day it started throwing up the error codes and exceptions. And now i cant book anything else at all. Solo, with my guest, with them, anything.

thankfully i didnt delete all of the prior reservations or i would haven anything for the last 4 days of the cruise.

When is your cruise?  If it’s after Sept 14th all dining reservations are going to be canceled anyway.  Rebooking starts in June.  I couldn’t see where you mentioned a date.  If your cruise is before then you shouldn’t be having problems, however when Princess starts messing with the app things don’t always go smoothly.

What are the hours on the Sun for the 3 dining options as well as the two for higher end cabins?

@TRLD This was posted in CanadianBurgers live from in March. It shows the hours.

Thanks to 1025cruise who also enlightened me!

I do hate that we don't get the statement before we leave the ship anymore.  I wonder if it's because there's less disputes if passengers don't see it for a week.  I wouldn't mind having it emailed if it was done promptly.

We did have a lovely cruise.

@Bridget2 You can print one at a kiosk, ask GS to print one or better yet screen print the folio on the app,  Why do you need crew running around on the final night delivering paper? Not to mention there are no longer mail boxes outside the door to put it in.

Just to answer one of the questions of this thread.  We are currently on Enchanted on our second week of a 14 day cruise.  We booked it as one cruise with premier package, though it was also bookable as 2 seven day cruises.  We only got 2 specialty dinners each for the entire 14 day cruise.

We booked a 3rd night of specialty dining just to see if it would be charged, (we were prepared to pay if charged) and yes it was charged to our account.

@Mud_Shark  Just curious….did you book and dine for the third night during the second 7 day leg?

    But the itemized breakdown

What itemized breakdown are you talking about?  Is this on your invoice or something you saw on Princess.com. The itemized data list on the princess site always lists the full price of all the benefits had you NOT gotten the plus.  It is not what you actually paid.  Is this what you mean?

I've been wondering what happens if you are seriously injured while out at sea or in Canada. Does Kaiser/Medicare coverage still apply?

Yes.  Google Kaiser senior advantage travel insurance.  There is a whole brochure and FAQ’s available.

Hello.  I booked a cruise in June of 2023 for this May.  I booked the Princess Plus.  The two casual dining are still not appearing anywhere.  Every time I've called Princess (full disclosure, I haven't called them in a few months) they've assured me I still have the two dining casuals.  Why can't I see it with my own eyes?  Has anyone run into this and have cruised and did indeed have the two casual dining meals?  Thanks.

If you are looking to make reservations you can’t.  There are no reservations for casual dining.  Walk up only.

The ship is Sun Princess. So the cover charge is the 45USD pp charge plus 18% tip. Am I correct to assume that the same logic with other cruise lines applies for specialty dining? 1 appetizer, 1 entree and 1 dessert?

    Thank you for your time.

It’s possible that you may be conflating two different dining with cover charges.  There is “casual” dining that incurs a $14.99 cover for a 3 course meal and “speciality” dining that has a higher cost but not necessarily limited in the course selection.  The chart attached may help.  The plus fare package includes 2 free casual meals and the premier fare is unlimited casual and 2 free specialty meals.
