  1. DH was super excited to hear about this! Woohoo - go Carnival!!!
  2. Thank you for sharing your experience. We have been on the Vista twice and we love her! Bummer that she's in rough shape at the moment. If we ever sail her again it will definitely be in the Havana section. It's the most relaxing experience we've ever had on a ship!
  3. We are booked on a late August sailing but have not been assigned our cabin yet. I am sitting on pins and needles!
  4. Different ships have different reservation processes. We have been on sailings where we were assigned a date and on sailings where we were able to choose the date. It just depends on the ship. The smaller ships are more likely to have assigned dates whereas the larger ships you are able to choose a night. FWIW, on the Spirit we were assigned a night but could not attend due to a long excursion so we called and were able to move the date.
  5. We were on the Spirit out of Seattle in early June and we purchased the Carnival Hub Chat plan, between 10 of us traveling together. The chat worked intermittently - but iMessage was working and was more reliable. The Hub app has never worked consistently for us, even after years of cruising.
  6. Absolutely! We are super excited to be going! Thank you again. 🙂
  7. Thank you for this review. I have been more than a bit worried we wouldn't like the food based upon everyone's complaints here. We have primarily cruised Carnival and have enjoyed the MDR for the most part. I know we will miss Guy's and Blue Iguana, but we wanted to change things up and will be trying out Voyager of the Seas in August. Thanks again!
  8. We were on the June 6th sailing and it was fabulous!!! https://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=702091 Absolutely loved the Spirit and would enjoy another sailing on her in the future. Would like to echo some of the other comments: we saw so many whales from the ship!!! It was magical. However, we did a third party whale watching tour in Juneau on a much smaller boat than the vessel that the Carnival excursion offered, so we were able to view orcas and humpbacks at a much closer distance. Absolutely worth it for us, especially since that excursion saved us money over Carnival's. Really, the only negative thing that happened was that 7 out of 10 of us ended up sick. My daughter and I had remarked upon the huge number of people who were coughing aboard the ship. Despite lots of hand washing and sanitizing we both still ended up with a nasty virus and here I am, a month later, and it's still lingering! I missed Victoria because of it. My husband was simply enchanted by Victoria, so it's a must-do. Oh well - next time 🙂
  9. Interesting - we had an early boarding time and had zero issues finding a porter to take our bags on the exact same cruise. We found embarkation and debarkation to be the easiest we have ever experienced. Absolutely agree about Sea-Tac. The WORST airport lines we have ever seen! We have TSA Pre-check but our adult children do not and it took them well over an hour to get through security. Our experience aboard mostly mirrors yours, minus the billing issues. We ate a couple of times in the MDR for breakfast/brunch and it really was very slow. In general however, everything was wonderful and it was a fantastic cruise!
  10. Just got off the June 4th sailing a couple of weeks ago - it was WONDERFUL and the food in the MDR was really good for the most part. 🙂 Y'all enjoy your cruises!
