totally agree with Marinaro - A new Asian restaurant may have been important to some who travel in a suite all the time but certainly not to us, we value being able to dine on the aft of the ship whenever the fancy takes us and the weather permits, had many a beautiful sunset whilst dining and drinking a few glasses of wine.

We were on the same cruise as the Welshfamily. We thought it was a great touch, we were standing by the bar in discoveries when the sunset started to disappear, then the captain announced what he was doing, we watched out the window of the bar as we circled. A bit of Az magic. That's why we repeat.

yeah same thing crops up all the time - no clear info from Az so no surprise people don't know when they can ask for them or indeed that they can actually request them when it pops up.

checked today for our October 19th cruise on quest. luggage tag request and e docs now available

not giving much if anything away. discounts as low as 10 percent when they have probably hiked the price up in the first place is diddly squat.

about 4 or 5 on the main list but they also do virgin just about anything - eg: virgin mary etc/...................

May I ask what time and where the dinner menu is displayed each day

And

How on earth do you decide if you are going to eat in the dinning room or at one of windows special buffet nights.

Also do you eat at in the dinning room and then go to the white night party or is a buffet served on that evening?

 

We would also like to try the speciality restaurants but we don't want to miss the white night if it is held. Do the staff in the speciality restaurants know when this event is held?

dinner menu is displayed outside discoveries by the entrance to discoveries bar, we usually leave it until mid afternoon to check which menu it is but all the menus are on the tv and can be found by looking for restaurant menus in the general catergory. we only check the board outside the restaurant as the tv ones sometimes are a little bit out of order.

the evening buffet menu is always displayed on a board outside the entrance to windows. so all you have to do is have a look at both menus and make up your mind where you are going to eat. some people actually go up to windows to check out the buffet in real life before deciding to wander down to discoveries mdr to eat instead.

you can eat in the mdr before white night dancing but the buffet is always good and plenty of wonderful things to eat. white night has always been very good for us and hope it is again this august.

with regards to when white night is - it is usually posted in the first nights pursuits, but also before sailing it is worth having a look at the itinerary and seeing when the ship is in port til late evening. on our cruise we are guessing at Mykonos as we don't leave til late and the other late night is the azamasing evening in malta.

hi - we are the people who robin (elbon) is referring to who have recently stayed in 8018. we had very little noise from above and had no problem whatsoever with the cabin, in fact robin who was in a suite experienced a lot more noise than we did !!!. enjoy it . nick and Cheryl

Are the prices posted in your local currency? If so, it could relate to the US dollar being very strong as compared with other currencies. The euro last summer was around $1.35 and it's now $1.12. The GBP is only $1.49. I suppose Azamara could have reduced the prices in US$ but instead chose to increase prices in other currencies. It certainly makes private excursions more attractive to both europeans and americans.

I dont think slight fluctuations in the dollar/pound exchange rate would warrant a huge 16 percent rise in the cost of the excursions. think azamara are just being greedy and upping the price of any of the trips which are in demand. we were going to book one of their trips in Colombo but as the price rose considerably then we wont put any more money their way.

can someone explain why the land discoveries prices for our 16 night cruise on quest 21st march have gone up by an average of 16 percent overnight???? we were waiting on a refund from a trip we cancelled in Colombo before we booked a different trip,only to find we have to wait up to 2 months yes 8 weeks for the refund, meanwhile while we wait on our money back the price for the new trip we were going to choose has increased by 16 percent.not a good way to do business and we wont bother to book something with azamara in Colombo now but will do something on our own...

Well that seems very unfair Bonnie. What about your loyal customers in the UK, Europe and Australia? I am seriously looking at what cruises to book in 2015 and I have to say that Oceania are bombarding me with special offers every day.....but nothing from Azamara. Not good. :(

Totally agree lottie. seems to be double standards if this is the case. Look after the usa market again and forget Europe and Australia. Never equality in the booking process and now no equality in the deals offered - ill say no more before I become too angry

Spoke to TA earlier and no further news, but noticed a few minutes ago that the cruise is now back on the TAs website - up by £300. Will be interesting to find out what they say tomorrow!

our Ta just been back on to us with a quote, with flights from Manchester it is now £2550 and from London about £80 cheaper - that makes it approx. £1600per couple dearer after they sorted the cockup out. we wont be booking this one lol.

Our TA says Az now holding back sale of the Montreal cruise for at least another 24hrs as the prices are all incorrect and she seemed to think that anyone who has already booked with the incorrect prices would be getting calls from their TAs to inform them of the fact they may have to rebook when the correct prices are published.

we waiting for our ta to try az tomorrow and ring us back , we wont hold our breath as you say it looked too good to be true, you may be lucky as you have already booked and have a contract so they may have to honour the deal in uk.

just tried booking the montreal cruise through uk TA. been told that Azamara have put hold on sales for 24 hours as the uk sites have been coming up with a fly cruise price at the same price as cruise only eg: 1704 on az for cruise only. 1704 on all uk ta sites with flights - apparently this is not correct. so dont know whats going to happen to anyone who is already booked or been sold it as a package...

we totally agree with regards to the m and m. a total and utter waste of time. tony didn't appear to be interested in the slightest as we were all ushered out to make way for rehearsals. why bother. in fact we wont in future.

That's what I'm trying to say. All the functions are not available. On the uk site of recently you could view bed configuration, special occasions etc, this is currently not available. Apologies as I wasn't having a personal go at anyone on here.

in spite of what you are saying host andy - we are not all in the USA - the uk site does not work - if you follow the link you get to the site showing co.uk but that is only the uk version of the international site - therefore unable to check such things as cabin allocation / special occasions etc. why have you closed this without a resolution or is it because im a lone brit complaining at the moment !!!!!!! any other uk cruise critic members out there with the same problems as me - sorry andy but not happy being fobbed off with lame excuses.

yeah it works if you want to view the usa or international website - it doesnt work if you want to view the uk site - sorry to all my american cousins but it doesnt work and hasnt worked since sunday !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
