  1. Hi - How does one find out about bidding/upgrading? Is an email sent or can you navigate through the Celebrity website to check if it is available for the cabin you are in? We are on the February 25th sailing of the Ascent. - Thanks
  2. I would also add to check MVJ for availability of tours 24 hours prior to when Viking states that the excursions will load and keep checking every hour or so. On both of our Viking cruises the excursions were loaded into MVJ well in advance. Certainly increases the odds of getting the excursions you would like to take.
  3. On a Viking cruise end of September, ship is docking in Ravenna, good for us because we have been to Venice previously but for others with expectations to spend a lot of time in Venice it is not a great situation... a number of unhappy folks.
  4. Thank you, seems like Into the Midnight Sun is a popular one. Thanks for sharing
  5. Wow ! Too funny... "No Bloody Way"... Looks like you guys are having a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing
  6. Interesting about Passage to India. Have thought of a land package there but I believe a cruise makes more sense. Will look into it. Thanks for sharing.
  7. Thank you so much for sharing, lots of food for thought. You have some wonderful trips coming up. We are very much looking forward to this trip to Italy/Adriatic/Greece. As you, we booked the Classic Athens extension which sold out shortly after we booked so we are grateful to be included. Interested in reading whatever you post on CC after upcoming trips. Thanks again!
  8. We are only 42 days away from our next Viking Ocean cruise to Italy, the Adriatic and Mediterranean (Greece) and have recently taken one other Viking cruise to Australia/New Zealand. It would be great to hear from others who have traveled more extensively with Viking as to which other cruise(s) you have most enjoyed so we can take that information in as we consider booking another while onboard the ship in September. I realize this of course depends on various factors including places we have previously visited, but background information and opinions may weigh in on where we go next. Thanks so much for sharing!
  9. Puglia’s White Cities $119 Per PersonSOLD OUT Day 5 – Bari, Italy Sunday, October 1 9:00 AM 8 Hours Thanks TayanaLorna for asking the question: This is from the Viking Excursion's page. MODERATE SHOPPING UNESCO MEAL SIGHTSEEING Ostuni & Alberobello Explore the striking white cities of Ostuni and Alberobello. You will travel with your guide first to Ostuni, perched on three hills with views of the endless olive trees in the Itria Valley countryside. Wander the labyrinth of alleyways, staircases and arches of this medieval walled city, famous for the striking effect of sunlight reflecting on its whitewashed houses. You will also visit the 15th-century cathedral, built in the late Gothic style (rare in Puglia, where most of the churches are austere Romanesque or ornate baroque). Then, continue to Alberobello, named after the primitive oak forest Arboris Belli (beautiful trees) that once covered this region. The Zona dei Trulli on the town's western hill, a dense mass of 1,500 beehive-shaped structures made from local limestone, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will have some time to explore these cone-shaped trulli houses at your leisure before returning to your ship. Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
