  1. Hello - Also, just posted this on the Viking Roll Call for September 27th cruise. Looking to put together a private excursion for Ostuni, Martina Franca, Alberobello plus other possible places while we are docked in Bari (8:00 am - 6:00pm). The Viking excursion was sold out very early so looking for an alternative. If interested, please respond via the Roll Call. Thank you
  2. Thank you ReturnCruiser - Were the Viking Water Transfers offered to all guests and did they run frequently? Were the transfers part of paid Viking excursions that Viking allowed you to get on with others that had paid for the excursions so you could get back to the ship? Thanks (We previously spent time in Venice so likely will not stay in Venice again but you are correct Venice at night and early in the morning is very special. When we were there I got up at 4:30am just to watch the fresh fish and produce being brought in by boats for the markets. Fun being there when all the chefs were buying for their restaurants.
  3. Quick update - Just found this and thought I should pass along. "In summer (from May 31 to September 30) is available the direct line of transportation "Clodia" by boat (vaporetti) with departures from stop Venice-Pietà (the stop is located in front of the omonim church, unique departure at 5pm); the same vaporetto, towards Venice, leaves from Isola dell'Unione at 9,05am and Piazzetta Vigo at 9,15am.
  4. "If you are staying in Chioggia and wish to visit Venice, there is a direct boat service, the Linea Clodia, which leaves every morning at 9.05am and returns in the evening, leaving Venice at 5pm. Do check the latest times as these are subject to change." Has anyone used this service and if so, would you share your experience good/bad....Thank you
  5. On our last Viking cruise we only experienced that once when 60 or so folks left the early show at the theatre and went right to the MDR. The great part was that Viking had everyone seated within 5-10 minutes, quite impressive actually. They do a really good job at getting you seated as quickly as possible.
  6. Phil - Really enjoyed reading your summary review. By chance have you ever completed a Viking cruise of Italy, the Adriatic and Mediterranean (including Greece). This is our trip coming up at the end of September on Viking Jupiter and would like to hear your thoughts/opinions on any excursions that you may have taken if you have been on such a trip. Thanks Don

  10. Sorry I think this should have been addressed to uktog instead as a UK resident - I am curious about Viking pricing for UK residents. We paid around $16K US for our two week Australian/New Zealand cruise and about the same for our two week upcoming Italy/Adriatic/Greece cruise. Both are for a DV4 category cabin. Wondering if is approximately the same for UK residents. Thanks for sharing if you don't mind.

  15. LongTerm - Thanks for sharing about the "move over department", have not heard of this on CC previously. Good to know in the event we have a similar situation in the future.
  16. Hello to the Cruise Critic Community - We are on the 15 day Italy, Adriatic and Greece cruise, September 27th this year. The shore excursions posted today on My Viking Journey and for the 3 days in Venice there are no shore excursions listed. I called Viking and was informed that we will have to ask onboard what might be available. Has anyone experienced this and what was the outcome, positive or negative? Thanks so much!
