  1. When the ship leaves Galveston it is on Central Standard Time. All the ports - Key West, Freeport & Nassau - are in the Eastern Time Zone. Does the ship change from Central to Eastern time zones or does it stay on Central? I'm just trying to figure out if my itinerary times on Carnival.com are ship time or port time if they are different. Trying to decide on excursion times. THanks in advance for the help!

Ships normally stay on home port time. Only exception I recall was our cruise to Hawaii where times did change about mid way across the Pacific.

  2. There's an outlet for 110(or 115) & 220? The 220 is the European outlet which the cabin steward uses for their vacuum.

There's also an outlet above the mirror in the bathroom to be used by razors only.

In order for the bathroom outlet to be used the bathroom light must be on.Have used it for charging things on many cruises. Also have an adapter with 2 110 outlets and 2 USB ports that we plug into the vanity outlet so we can charge pretty much everything at once.

  3. We were on the 1/18 sailing. Weather was bad enough that no one was out on the deck for sail away. However, there is a problem with the entire ship. This our 2nd time in the last 9 months we've been on the Conquest. Both times the service throughout the ship was not just bad but it was awful. from the dining room to the cabins to guest services was truly awful. Casino was filled with smoke did not need to be playing to smoke in the casino, you could just be walking in the actual casino and be smoking w/o anyone saying anything. Will never sail the Conquest again,

We were on both the 1/9 and the 1/17 sailings,B2B,and although it was chilly on the 1/17 sailing there were quite a few people, less than normal, and the usual activities on deck. The 1/9 sailing was warmer and there was the usual sail away on deck.Muster was completed before sail away on both.Had no complaints with either the service or the crew on either sailing.

  4. It must be varying by ship then. Many times ship staff determines the way things are done. I just know this was not done on the Liberty in March of 2015, Paradise in September of 2015, or the Pride in October of 2015. I guess I will find out if it is done on the Conquest later this month! :D Either way, I will have a great time at the party, for sure!

Was done on our Conquest B2B, both parties, last month.

  5. We took this cruise on Conquest January 9. For what it's worth (it may change every time for all I know) we were on the Port side (even numbered cabins) and we were facing the pier in St. Kitts and away form the pier in St. Maarten, San Juan, and Grand Turk if I recall correctly.

We were also on that cruise and you are correct. As others have stated many factors come into play in deciding which side of a pier the ship docks on.

  6. We normally cruise in January and with a few days exceptions, usually sailing back to Ft Lauderdale at the end of a cruise, have had great weather. As Winddawn said the further south you go the warmer it gets.We always fly in 2 days early but fly home the day of debarkation. This past cruise was the only time we had flight problems due to weather, because of the NE coast storms but Delta had already rebooked us with only a minor delay from our original flight.

  7. I dont think so cause we never had any port problems to warrant a port fee refund, especially not on the first day. I need to see what the exact description of the charge is, it always shows as -$9.xx . It may take me a while to dig out paperwork from a cruise months ago though.

Does not need to be a problem for the port fee's to change, they are determined by the port authorities. Our "credit's" have never shown a description just the $ amount. (just checked our bill from the last cruise)

  8. For some reason I am remembering 2 credits on one cruise, but I would have to go through my old cruise receipts to be sure. I thought it was a fluke the first time, which was April 2015, the second time it happened, Nov 2015 I assumed the SnS credit replaced the coupon. Odd!

Sure it wasn't port fee's refund? They do change and we always seem to get a credit every cruise but the "Free Drink" has always been a certificate left in our cabin.

  9. We were also on this cruise, 2nd leg of a B2B. Agree with everything you said although we did not have young adults with us so those activities/venues did not come into play. Also had a great bar server up on deck,Harta, and found all the crew we came in contact with to be great. We did self-assist and were Platinum and some of the first to leave the ship, the disembarkation went well for us.

  10. I have been on the Liberty and really enjoyed it. It seems like the Freedom is very similar. To anyone who's been on both ships can you tell me how the 2 compare? Thanks!

Have not been on the Liberty but have been on the Freedom several times and we really enjoyed her and her crew. They are both "Conquest" class ships but the Freedom is newer by 2 years and just went thru the 2.0 upgrades last year, not sure about Liberty and 2.0. Just my opinion.

  11. Doing a b2b on breeze, will be at 63 days when we board, so will turn platinum on 2nd half. My question is will we be granted upgraded status at start, or not until 2nd half on reboarded with new s&s cards? Anybody else done this? Thanx

We did on our last cruise with the same circumstances.

  12. Still no change this morning...I will come back and post the outcome and when I finally see the status change....hoping sooner rather than later ;)

Had the same questions/issues on our last cruise which was a B2B. Technically we did not turn Platinum till the 2nd leg. I called Carnival weeks after final payment was made and spoke to 3 different reps. After speaking to the last one I checked our documents a few days later and saw that we had been changed to Plat/Priority for both legs. Took some time and 3 calls but we were granted Plat status. Don't give up.

  13. Thanks for adding to the conversation! I'm really looking forward to being on the Conquest, as I've heard mostly wonderful things about it.

So had we. As many have stated before "your experience may vary". I always like to "add" information so others may be more informed. We truly enjoyed our past B2B although there were some things that did not go as expected such as the B2B debark/embark between both legs, seemed very disorganized but in no way did it spoil our day/cruise. The fact that we had 3 different stewards over the 14 days, first one had his contract end 6 days into the first leg so we had a replacement for the last day and had a new one for the entire 2nd leg. All were very good and always willing to meet/exceed our expectations and beyond anyone's control as contracts do end.

    Enjoy your cruise.
