  1. We were on both the 1/9 & the 1/17/2016 sailings, B2B. Had the same room for both. First time on the Conguest but have sailed the Freedom, a sister ship, several times. We had great stewards, different one on the 2nd leg as the first one's contract was up. Had ice twice daily, both ice bucket and a beer bucket for our wine. We ate more in the MDR this time than on any other cruise, ATD. Had great service and food was always good. 1/9 sailing was warmer than the 1/17 leg. As there was a cold front in Florida during the 1/17 leg we expected colder temps and wore sweat suits in Key West, still had a great time. Cayman was also a great time, both Key West and Grand Cayman were new ports to us as was San Juan on the first leg. Did 3 bags of laundry the end of the first leg and also had to request bags which were delivered shortly after we requested them. We were on Verandah deck midship and could not have been happier with this trip and are looking forward to sailing Conguest again.Sorry to hear that your cruise was not as enjoyable.Edit:They did call Diamonds before us Platinums.

  2. We were booked on a B2B right now on the Triumph but had to cancel due to medical problems. Everyone that I've heard from on that B2B were allowed to bring only 1 bottle of wine onboard. The other was confiscated and were told they would get it back on the 2nd leg. I haven't heard if that happened.

We just completed a B2B on the Conquest out of Ft Lauderdale. We brought on 2 bottles of wine each and had our boarding passes for both legs out. They never even checked our carry-ons but did ask if we had wine in them to which we replied yes. They passed us right thru.

  3. He started his last review and then said he hadn't realized how much weight he had gained and was off to the gym..........

Never to be heard from since.....:D:D:D

    True Story....

On our last cruise one of the Trivia questions was "how many pounds does the average cruiser gain per day on a cruise". The answer was 1 1/2 - 2 lbs per day.

  4. Just got back from a B2B on the Conquest with the new menu. I was not impressed at all. It was really hard trying to find something to eat every night. I started to think about maybe having an app at the table (usually found something there) and then go up to the buffet for my actual meal. I really don't like buffets but the food really wasn't great. I don't care about the tablecloths it was the food that I had problems with. Even my husband who usually doesn't have a problem said the second week that he was finding it hard to find anything good to eat. He actually did go to the buffet one night to get some food.

If you eat seafood than you probably will find something but if you don't good luck. After having the pork chop 3 nights and without the onions and apples (I can't have any wheat and it seems they can't bake apples or cook onions without wheat) I had had enough.

I am going again on the Conquest in Oct. and will be looking at the buffet for what it has and then going to the dinner for apps and dinner at the buffet.

We also just finished a B2B on Conquest and thought there was a very good selection in the MDR. We actually ate in the MDR more often than on any other cruise we have previously been on.

  5. On our last B2B we had a total of 3 different stewards and we were in the same cabin for both. On the first leg, an 8 day, we had Oscar for days 1-6 then his contract ended. We had Jerry for the last day. Got Javiar for the entire 6 day that followed. Oscar did say that after 2 1/2 months off he would be sailing out of Australia for Carnival.

  6. Thanks all for trying to sort this out!

Does anyone recall the price of a bucket of Miller Lite when at the Lido deck? We are trying to decide weather or not to purchase the Cheers program. But on a 7 day cruise for 2 adults its pricey!!! I think we will be better off purchasing 2 bottles for Bon Voyage Delivery and then just get buckets while hanging at the pool.

Does anyone know if there is a limit to the # of bottles you can purchase per cabin for Bon Voyage?

    Thank all in advance! :)

    2 bottles per cabin limit.

  7. You are splitting hairs. I know from experience if you choose to consume a drink , other than in your room ,from a Bottle purchased through Carnival no one will bother you . I have done it on every cruise and was never even questioned.

Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

Have done the same on our last 5 cruises. Never have had any problem.

  8. Hey everyone! I am FINALLY planning my next cruise, which will be to Alaska in June 2017. I really want to book a back-to-back, but want to know the best way of doing it. And do they offer any deals if you do? Any tips from old pros would be greatly appreciated. :)

    No deals.

Best way would be to go thru a Carnival PVP and get the same room for both legs. You can do this yourself online but it takes more time. I would go online and make a list of available cabins that you are intersted in/comfortable with before calling.

    Enjoy.

  9. Yes, no "Priority" on either. Carnival reps all said that 2nd leg would not change till we completed the first leg but when we did we would be Plat on the 2nd leg.

Just an update, checked again last night and we are "Priority" for both legs. Guess it pays to keep checking. Thanks to all who replied.

  10. I was going to suggest you check your luggage tags. However, my luggage tags that had PRIORITY on them no longer has Priority on them. There is another thread re. this and I guess it's another CCL glitch.

Also my Platinum status is no longer listed on my boarding pass. Glad I printed out the luggage tags with PRIORITY on them. The boarding pass does have PRIORITY on the top.

By the way, we turned platinum on our 9th cruise when we were doing a B2B. This was the year that they changed from 10 cruises to # of days. We still only had 72 days at the end of our 10th cruise. We had 2 6-day cruises and the rest were 7 & 8 day.

Checked my docs on the Carnival website today and we are still listed as gold on both legs even thou we do turn Platinum on the 2nd leg? Not sure why but I guess it is what it is.Was so looking forward to the much shorter line at embarkation finally.

  11. We did a B2B in Oct. for 21 days. We had 57 days of sailing before getting on ship, but we had our Platinum cards on the first day of the first leg. So you should be Platinum when you board the ship, we were.

So you and others have reported but Carnival says different!

  12. So in the last 2 days I have spoken with 3 different Carnival reps and all of them have given me the same answer and that is we will not be Platinum until the 2nd leg of our B2B which is when we actually get to Platinum status.Somewhat confused about all the posters here who have reported that in the same situation as ours they were Platinum on their 1st leg?

Anyone else have anything to add?

  13. They don't have to do anything for the first leg. They do seem to be bumping people up if they are on a B2B, but again. They don't have too.
