I am struggling on what to do for this port. I am trying to find something low key for my mom who has difficulty walking long distance. I am going to wear her out on the other days so trying to keep it relaxing. We will be in port at 8am and have a luau booked for 4:45. Any suggestions welcome. TIA!!

Either this person doesn't know how to use their phone system, or they're putting you on hold while they check their email, Twitter, Instagram. Surely their supervisor would catch on to what this person is doing and retrain them.
Get a PVP so you don't have to put up with this foolishness. There is no cost to you to use a PVP, they can save you a lot of time and aggravation. There are instructions on Carnival's site how to get one.
I have a PVP who told me that I would lose the deposit when I cancel. SO I cancelled and then got a letter the next day saying I could get a refund.
I had a discussion with this lady about just that and she questions her higher ups too. Her supervisors are the ones who told her she is not allowed to call me back and she has to sit on the line and do nothing.

Why are you canceling, and why does it have to go to a supervisor? Canceling is cut and dried with rules based on booking type and time frame that are clearly spelled out when the cruise is booked. Are you trying to get money back that you may not be entitled to?
Cancelled the night before the letter went out. I can get my deposit back but a supervisor has to do it.

So I am on hold with Carnival for an issue cancelling that has to go to a supervisor. Talking to the very lovely woman and she says it'll take 1hr 45 minutes to get in touch with a supervisor. She can't hang up with me and call me back. She also can not help any other callers while we are waiting for the supervisor. So basically for 1hr 45 min this rep is doing nothing instead of helping other people. Makes me wonder how many representatives are doing the same.
This would defiantly not fly in my business. We would not pay people to twiddle their thumbs and do literally nothing.

Does NCL still do lunch in the MDR on embarkation day? We'd rather do that than go to the buffet. TIA

FYI for anyone else coming here an answer. I spoke with CVS and they said they can't do anything because they can only make appointments and since this technically isn't an appointment, we have to go through NCL. I spoke with NCL and they can't register us after the fact because of the glitch. We have to just show up at the terminal and register there.

How do you know this?
From prior calls.

I just checked-in and I am trying to register for a covid test with CVS. I searched here, but I only see out of country issues with registering. It keeps giving me the error "We weren't able to register you for the departure test. Please try again." I get the e-mail for the barcode, but I still get the error. I tried using the chat on NCL and it disconnects the chat. Anyone come across this? Do I contact NCL or CVS? I know either way will be a long hold time so I figured I'd ask the trusty folks here.
I have my e-docs and the check-in time and watched the video.

If you can get it on demand, the History Channel did a documentary that was very interesting. The Engineering that Built the World: Panama Canal.

I though we didn't have to wear masks?? Is this fleet wide?

Forgive me if this has already been asked. There was only so far back in the posts I could go without getting cross eyed. We will be sailing from Miami and I've seen other posts of people testing the day before at other ports. Is this offered at every port? I'd love to just get it over and done with this way we don't have to worry about the results. Does anyone know where to go to get tested? Do we go to the port and they direct us to the location, or will this be stated in our registration e-mail? Also, how do you get your results after testing? TIA!

We will be on the first sailing back in action come December. Have they done anything special on the other ships for their 1st sailing back?

Did you have to pick up a copy of Funtime at guest services?
Yes. It's a one page (back and front) sheet now on the guest service desk.

We purchased the Beach 360 excursion through Carnival. What a beautiful beach with the exceptions of the jelly fish. We took the tram to Beach 360. The first stop was where you rent the golf carts. Don't worry about not being able to get one. There were so many. The men and woman are there when the tram stops, pushing them on everyone still sitting on the tram. There are 4 and 6 person carts. 360 was the 2nd stop. They are very clear with what stops we were at. When you get off the tram and are looking towards the beach/restaurant, there is an access entrance walkway to the left. There is a private property sign, but it leads to the beach. If you already have a blue wrist band for the Beach 360 chairs and umbrella, you can head to any open umbrella. The color of the umbrella doesn't matter. If you have a blue wrist band and want to use the pool, you can upgrade for $15 at the bar. If you purchased the excursion through the ship and get a free drink, you can either get it at the bar, or ask the servers to bring it. You can also purchase the chairs and umbrella at the bar. I didn't get the prices. Servers are always coming around, but are not in your face. They can also bring your lunch order to you. There is an 18% gratuity automatically added. We gave the gentleman a credit card, so I don't know about cash. The cabanas are lined up in back. They are not worth the $$$$$. The sun went right through them, the 2 chairs behind the lounge chairs looked uncomfortable. The white tent cabanas (don't know what they are called) are at the very far end of the beach. You will use the third tram stop for them. People weren't exaggerating when it comes to the jelly fish. They were out in full force. I heard from 3 people who were stung. When we first walked off the gangway, there were a whole lot of pretty fish. If you look over the edge at the water close to the port, there were a so many jelly fish swarming. On the beach, they are all over shore and in the water. I was afraid to go in, but a lot of people were swimming with them. If you just wanted to stop to eat or drink at the bar, there is plenty of seating. There were comfortable cushioned chairs and tables.
The white dots in the dark blue part of the 2nd fish photo are all jelly fish.

I'll have the rest of the Fun Times too, they are in my suitcase right now and I slacked off with taking photos of them. 🤷♀️

CHEF'S TABLE
This was our first experience at the chef's table. Apparently before Covid, they brought you into the kitchen. Now, we had it in one of the dance clubs. It was actually set up really cool in the middle of the dance floor. They had a few extra courses at the beginning which weren't on the menu. The chefs and all the other crew were amazing! So very meticulous. There were ten of us there so it was 5 one one side of the table and 5 on the other. My mom and I sat at opposite sides of the table, which I didn't like to much because I felt like I wasn't really enjoying the experience together. So when they call you to confirm, ask to be seated together so this doesn't happen. They didn't call us to let us know what date it would be until 2 days prior. It was on Friday, elegant night. I'm not sure if this is the same night every week. Then they called the morning of and re-confirmed and asked again if there were any allergies. There was one person with a dairy allergy and the chef made her the same dishes, but adjusted them for her. We had the choice of bottled water or sparkling water and also red or white wine. The white was pinot grigio which was very good. I don't recall the red wine selection. They refilled the wine glasses. The chef who makes the chocolate melting cakes for the ship came out and showed us how he makes them. They also had the magician come out and do a few tricks which were really cool and not cheesy. He did this while they needed time to set up some of the plates. The chefs answered some questions we had and we found out that the menu is actually corporate created and is the same across the fleet. It takes them months to perfect it and they have to reproduce it perfectly prior to being able to present it to passengers.
I highly recommend this to everyone. I didn't eat any of the lamb dish and left the duck. No one said anything. They weren't judging if you left some on your plate.
