  1. I understand they charge extra for blue cheese.
  2. Our maintenance guys carry bb guns. When its cold like this, the cats can catch them.
  3. I can see it featured in the daily rag on the inside left. Top right.
  4. Do you think they will be all beef?
  5. Well then why are they still here? They are an invasive species.
  6. I wish they would. They eat all our flowers, especially red ones. If only they were turned into a delicacy like the Lionfish.
  7. 50 here. Shorts on... in the HOUSE with the heat on 74. Our bedroom was 71 last night. We used a blanket and was as snug and a bug in a rug.
  8. You're right. It was cultural. Had it been at the buffet or a casual restaurant, it would have been fine. It was just such a shock. Your in a quiet dining room where everyone is covered from shoulder to toe in the formal wear and then you have a party of 5 scantily clad, very loud people seated near you. You could tell the staff was uncomfortable too. It was one of those trips where people board at different ports, so perhaps they didn't have time to change before dinner?
  9. At a beach or a pool you would expect to see skin. At a nude beach, you would expect nudity. At a regular beach in the US, you would expect some type of coverage. How would you feel if a naked person walked into chuch? Someplaces it belongs, someplaces it doesn't.
  10. I agree! We were on a Princess Ship in Brazil and these "ladies" showed up showing their Huchi Kuchi's.... on Formal night. The Matre D said "There are Brazilian." Yes, I was uncomfortable with DH looking at all that skin. It certainly put a pall on my dinner which the waiter really tried to make up. FYI, I have not booked Princess again This is exactly to the point. Follow the rules.
  11. We were on the Millie on Jan 3rd. There was still a dress code in the MDR. The sign was still there. Men need to put on their big boy pants and get over it. What woud your Grandmother say?
  12. Perhaps they should put a point value to everything on the menu. You have 100 points. You can choose how you use those points. 10 points for the usual crappy shrimp cocktail or 20 points for fresh Key West pinks. Rolls are 5 points. Lobster is 30 points, potatoes are 10 as are side veggies, salad and soup. Desserts range from 5 for pudding to 20 for something really good. This way you only "pay for what you want". For me? Forget the bread and potatoes, give me a fresh shrimp cocktail, lobster and a decent veggie / soup / salad. This way diners get what they really want leading to less waste. Gosh, I'm brilliant!
  13. On our last cruise, we did not like the wait for Select Dining, so we went upstairs. We had some great cooked to order pasta. Although they do not advertise it, they will make oil and garlic..... have them throw in some mushrooms 🙂
  14. The MDR is air-conditioned. AND it can be chilly, you might be glad you have on those slacks!
  15. DH wears slacks and a polo shirt most evenings. During formal night, he has his tux and I have my gown. In Dec, I think he was the only man in a tux.
  16. I have to tell an "I'm on vacation" story. It was the Apex ladies room and it was busy. A women came out off a stall, another went in and came right back out and pointed out that the first women had not flushed. Her comment was "I am on vacation" to which the second women replied "so am I, flush the d*** toilet! Everyone stared at her until she did.
  17. It is true, we do mostly live our lives in shorts, but we also been taught how to dress in certain circumstances. The sign says no shorts, so you respect that. I was not allowed on the heliport because I did not have closed toed shoes. Next time I will bring some. We have tourists who will come to church in shorts. You would never see a local do that. I would believe we are alike. We know what to wear and when we should wear it. THEY might not care, but I do. That is the way I was raised.
  18. One thing that came back were CHOCOLATES! Do you remember when they took those away????? There was a a REVOLT! Other things that are no more: 1.The Speakers. They had a speaker from NASA talking about what NASA discoveries had contributed to society, such as velcro. Another talked about the dimishing of the gold standard etc, etc 2.Crafts, they used to have people to teach you deccpage, counted cross stitch and more. They were people who got their cabin for free and had the cost of the their supplies covered. On our last cruise, they offered adult coloring...... 3.The Captains Club Gala: We a huge party in the sky lounge with roast beef, sushi, homemade ice cream, tea sandwhiches and more. EVERYONE who was eligible would attend. All the entertainment on board showed up to do their thing. 4.Mariachi's in Cozumel at 5:00 on the pool deck 5.No more A Capella groups 6.No more open containers of qtips and cotton balls. If you get them now, you have to fight with the packaging. 7. No more last sea day buffet! That was HUGE with chocolate waterfalls, Ice carving, fruit carvings, butter carvings. It was held in the MDR. 8. No Suite Lounge entertainment. These are the things I remember. I am sure others remember more.
  19. I don't want you to be embarressed! We were on Seabourn one time and had just gotten back from a shore excursion. We went to the bar for a cold drink. The bartender came our from behind the bar, which was quite a walk and quietly wispered to us that shorts were not allowed in the bar after 5:00 PM. Needless to say, we did not make that mistake again.
  20. Shorts and flip-flops are not allowed in the evening hours. Under notes. AND you are guided to the daily program for correct attire.
  21. We had a Sky Suite in Dec on the Summit and Apex last Jan. They were hold over / lift and shift reservations from Covid cancellations so for both of us, the price was half of the current charges. THAT is the way you afford a suite. BTW, the Retreat lounge was basically empty on the Summit, but was well attended in the evening only on the Apex. During the day we had it to ourselves.
  22. There were guidelines last week on the Millie. Seriously, do shorts belong in a dining room at dinner? You are not at home. What would you wear to a nice restaurant?
  23. We just got off the Millie last Friday in a Veranda cabin. No qtips or cotton swabs. Maybe you have to ask for them. I did not see a tote bag, but I really didn't look for it. They had robes, hair dryer, umbrellas, slippers and binoculars.
