1.
Hi Shirley

I recieved your email.....thank you so much for information re Cocoa Beach. I will be sure to send off note to Lori.

Question: what does DV stand for ? I have racked my brains ...lol... trying to figure that abbreviation out.

Also, great list of towns south. I went to BCAA this am for triptik books. Once I get them I will have a better idea of towns between Cocoa Beach and FLL

Take care and try and have a restful fun weekend.

Sharon
Hello Sharon ---OOPS I DID A BOO BOO I meant to say CV which short for Cocoa Village -
and yes writing Lori is an excellent idea for she can give you an insight of what all to make sure and see there and enjoy
Thanks for taking the time to write and good luck
2.
Unrelated point...Any recent reviews of CruiseXpress in Orlando? I didn't get any replies to this question on seperate thread...Anyone have any info on this company?

Mike
Hello Mike - I,myself, have never ever heard of this company and I get around quite a bit and never have ever seen their vehicles here in Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach so don't know what to tell you - maybe someone else will post if they have used them or heard of them.
3.
Just back from our Sensation cruise... and wanted to let everyone know about our SUPERB experience with Mike from VIP Limo!!!

I had booked Mike's towncar service for to drive us from the Orlando airport to our hotel in Cocoa Beach and then from the cruise port back to the airport at the end of our cruise.

When we met Mike at the airport, he greeted us in his STRETCH LIMO!! Apparently, his towncar was unavailable! His service was very nice and professional. He is very knowledgeble about the area and extremely helpful!

We will definitely use his services again when visiting the area!!

Thanks again for the great advise, Shirley!!
Helloooooooooooo Angie,
I am so glad everything went so well for you - you know one of the saddest part about this thread is that once anyone sails, we don't hear from them again and most I have really have had a click with - "you know you like them even though you don't know anything about them" sort of thing.

Thanks for the comment - isn't Michael the gentleman I said he was - he his quite the gentleman
4.
Does anyone know how many rooms are needed to make a group booking? We have finalized the majority of our plans and are looking at staying at the Radisson. Thanks!
Look drop Joe P a note at the Radisson and he most likely will work with you - he is a sweetie when it comes to being a GM

jpanackia@radissonport.com
5.
Anyone know how much a limo would cost from the airport to the port in FLL? I want to splurge but I might be dreaming with how much that splurge will cost.
Michael is the one you want to drop a note to - quite the gentleman
and make sure you let him know you got the information from this board - his prices are awesome
viplimo@screenstar.com

OOPS I didn't read this right - you are in FLL and Michael is here in Brevard County
SORRREEEEEEEEEEEEE
6.
Thanks to this thread, I have confirmed reservations with Travelynx for our 11/20/10 cruise. They were very prompt with their email replies and personable on the phone. We are 6 adults flying into MCO so they will transport us from the airport to the Residence Inn on the day prior to our cruise, transport us from the hotel to the cruise port then from the cruise port to our hotel in Orlando after the cruise. There's no way we could rent a vehicle large enough for us and our luggage for the price they are charging. I'll come back with a review of our experience when we return.

We are staying at the Residence Inn as we stayed there pre-cruise a couple of years ago and were quite pleased. I see by trip advisor that it remains a popular choice and rated number one in that area.
Very good choices MonaCD - have a great cruise
7.
Does anyone know which car rental agency doesn't charge a drop off fee? I have a 1 way rental from Avis post cruise returning at MCO and they say they're the only ones in the PC area that do not charge drop off rates. I now need one pre-cruise for a 1 way to PC and was wondering if any of the airport locations charge drop off fees to PC or not.
The only 2 that I know of that charges drop off fee is Thrifty and Dollar - the drop off fee is $40.00
Hope that will help
8.
Shirley,

Thank you so much for putting me in contact with Stefani(courtyard) she was able to help me!!!

Deb
She is a sweetie to work with and glad she was able to help - having one to one contact can make anyone feel better and more assured.
glad it worked out
:-)
9.
Shirley, The very next post should start the next page if you are ready with your updated list. Thanks for all you do for all of us!:)

[Please try to save the next post for Shirley's updated list.
Hello Peg,
Thanks so much for taking the time and effort to help me - we will do it on the next time ok? Everything should be in place by then and too this will give me extra time to add some other stuff to it - its going to be longer so I do not know if it will be acceptable by CC, but we will wait and see - it should answer just about any questions folks may have without repeating over and over. One of the reasons Preston left was due to many would not do any research or read the post made, but as the thread grew, it was hard to keep track of what anything was - I really understood Preston fusteration cause I got there a few times myself - anyhow I hope that this link will at least make folks mind a little easier.
also when I contacted the Hilton and the Inn of Cocoa Beach to help me update their information, they declined and aske their information be removed (I so still don't understand why or the reasons behind it all, but I am following their wishes) so if you want any information on these 2 places, you will have to call them directly
Anyhow hope all had a great holiday and now its back to reality check :-)
Have a great week
10.
Thanks Shirley with getting me to my meeting last week. I also found Ross and T.J. Maxx on this road as well and other stores I always visit at homeGreat cruise and I will be doing a post for the Radisson Hotel, which I loved!
I did make my goal for the month! LOL
Hello Diggie,
I am really glad you made it ok - Boy you did do some traveling going from Victoria Square all the way down to T.J. Maxx - did you have any problems etc? Glad you made your meeting and congratulations on your continuing sucess and also happy you enjoyed the Radisson - good luck with everything in life and keep in touch :-)
11. Hi... new on this thread and have tried to read through all the post over the past 3 days. After doing so I do have a question and I am hoping it's not a repeat although I don't believe I've seen anything about it.

We are cruising into Port Canaveral next July and will be in port from 12pm - 10pm. We want to spend a few hours on the beach & I have been reading about Jetty Park & Cocoa Beach. I'd like some opinions on which would be the best one to visit. We have 5 adults, a 18 year old, a 14 year old and a 15 year old.

If you will go to page 15 and look for post #295, you will find all the answers you need or if you can wait for a few days, I have a new updated list to post.

12. Melana,

Last night I got in touch with VIP Limo. His new email address is: viplimo@screenstar.com.

He was very quick with his reply!!:)

I will be using him for transportation from Port Canaveral to the Kennedy Space Center in December.

I hope this helps!

Carol

Carol thanks so much for correcting me - I had forgotten the email address I put had been high jacked and Michael had to use a new one DUH!!!!! on me - again thanks for keeping tabs on me - if you all don't who will??????????? and I sure need some watching and corrected when I should be ;-)

I emailed a company called Royal cocoa shuttle but they havent responded back and their phone is working. ( The hotel recommended them). We are flying in a day earliy for a cruise in 2 weeks. Owners are Michael and Marlene Robinson - phone number 321-505-0009

And this is the one folks have been saying they have been very pleased with although all of them are pretty good

14. OKay just won the Country Inn and Suites Cape Canaveral on Priceline for 75.00 a night, 2 nights pre cruise. Probably could have gotten a better deal had I of waited but that is almost 30.00 cheaper than the posted rates on the hotel's website.

Now I have a few questions...Does this hotel offer parking and shuttle to the port. if not how far is the port from the hotel. And last but not least how far is the hotel from Cocoa Beach? My friends wants to go to the beach some and I need to know about public beach access too and parking for that. OR is there public transportation to the beach from the hotel.

Thanks in advance...

Hello Melana,

The CI&S is a very nice place with a great staff - they offer free parking and shuttle to the port and it is about 2 miles or less from there - If you want to go to the beach, the closest

places start after you pass the triangle which is about 1/2 mile South - any of the streets on the left side will take you to the beach - if you want something better, you would have to go to the Cocoa Beach Pier which is on Ridgewood which runs beside A1A on the South side and it is about 2 and 1/2 miles from CI&S - you would have to catch a cab or shuttle in order to get there and CI&S could arrange that for you.

Drop Bud a note and he can advise you better - this is email address and he is the GM

ENJOY!!!!!!!!!

15. Shirley, I just tried to book a room at the Courtyard and it is full, this is for Oct 2 for 1 night, Is there something going on that weekend that you know of? Nobody else is sold out for that weekend! We wanted to book a room post cruise, we were given a gift certificate for Marriott for our anniversary!

OF COURSE SOMETHING SPECIAL IS GOING ON FOR OCTOBER 02 - BREVARD COUNTY IS CELEBRATING MY 75TH BIRTHDAY :0 ;)

Let me give you an email address for someone that can help you - just drop Stefanie a note, tell her Shirley said she is canceling her birthday (just kidding but see it did make you smile huh) and she will be able to help you or at least answer your question - I myself don't know what is going on - Good luck and let me know ok? Meanwhile have lots of safe fun today. She also handles questions for the Hampton Inn if anyone is interested

17. Okay where is Rusty's.....should just read the whole report you gave...did print it off....??? Has Grill's changed its name???

Lou

Hello again Lou,

Rusty's, Milligan, Fishlips and Grills are located in what is known as "the cove" and it is located here in Cape or some call it Port Canaveral - its a strip that has day and nighttime fishing charter boats, fish markets, and at one time, the Sun Cruz casino ship -

Nope Grills has not changed its name. Everything is the same out there although there is plans to open a "vendor's tent" where visitors can go and buy stuff to take home. do not know if and when it will open.

Norm and I like Rusty's mostly for the atmosphere and the casual thing - they do have inside and outside sitting. Their food is pretty good and we sit where we can watch the ships go by. Nothing spectacular, but I guess it reminds us of the Raw oyster bar in Key West.

Anyhow have a great holiday weekend and keep it a safe one :-)

18. Hello all,

here we sit with wall to wall traffic - Cocoa Beach Pier is having an awesome Kidney Foundation fund raiser with prizes, entertainment, music - a lot of stuff for all ages - I can hear the music from there - (got my window open ;-) - Norm and I just got back from Rusty's after a great meal of oysters and shrimps and even though the traffic was thick, there was no problem. Got home safe and sound.

Hope those that came here to cruise had the opportunity to go over and enjoy all that is being offered/.

Anyhow will say so long for today, each have a wonderful and fun filled day and most of all a safe one,

Its always a sincerely pleasure to chat with all - tommorrow will continue working on the update - I hope that it will answer just about all the questions you may have.

TAKE CARE AND ENJOY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
