Can you bid for upgrade after Gty assigned?
dani negreanu replied to mattR's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Thanks, I'm checking several times a day. The cruise is Sept. 16th, so all the "blocks" have been released a long time ago... -
Can you bid for upgrade after Gty assigned?
dani negreanu replied to mattR's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I've got a bid up offer after being assigned the GTY (ocean view, connected cabin). I'm not happy with the connected, but the category is sold out. Put a minimum bid for balcony.... not holding my breath. -

Changing room number with an assigned GTY
dani negreanu replied to Ja2012's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I had my previous TA call with the cabin # I wanted to switch to, after being assigned the GTY. If you give them the "alternative" number (without mentioning GTY, it worked for me twice...). Might try with: "I'd like to switch from # [if you have the #, even before you got the "official" notice] to this #". BTW, I've been already assigned my GTY # for my next cruise, never got an "official" notice....😕 -
M&M -- one of the many Covid victims... My thoughts about your Paris cum London trip -- By now, you've gathered that I like to be "in the middle of the things". Taking into consideration the cost of flights, hotels and per diem, time is very valuable. I wouldn't want to spend 40 mins from my home away from home to get to the main sights in Paris. I would also like to option to get back in the middle of the day / afternoon in order to "regroup". How many days do you plan for Paris Disney? I'd limit my stay near the park to the number of days I'll be visiting. Afterwards, "back to Paris", find the cheapest accommodation in a good and central hotel / Airbnb. I speak French. I've found a big difference between our 1st visit to Paris in 1976, where nobody spoke English, and subsequent many visits, where English was widely spoken. My personal preference is to fly to Paris first. I hate the long journey from Heathrow to Central London and found it easier to get from CDG to central Paris. Afterwards, very easy to catch the Eurostar from Paris and find myself, after 3 mere hours, right in central London.

Actually, it was much simpler than that... Ours was a special sailing, with many "high-ranking" C&As, who combined a TA with the following "foliage" cruise to Canada. Therefore, lots of them were already on Vision for the crossing and had the opportunity to meet the captain and ask for this favor. We had an amazing Meet & Mingle, where I had the opportunity to add faces to many frequent and helpful posters on this forum.
