  1. Since I started this thread, I thought I could at least come back to say what happened for me.....I did cancel my bid and re-submitted with a different credit card. I received the upgrade from inside to balcony last night (we sail on Saturday), with a minimum bid of $75 per person. This a comped cruise thru CAS, so I don't have a lot of $$$ invested. Just $140 admin fee plus port fees and taxes. This is my first cruise since January, 2020
  2. I did a mock booking, choosing a balcony instead of an inside. The dining gratuities are indeed $17.80 for balcony (2 meals) instead of $10 for an inside (1 meal). So, I guess I mis-understood the rule about only getting the offers from your original cabin.
  3. no, I don't. The only thing I can think of is that I actually now get two meals with the free at sea (instead of the one meal with the inside cabin) and it's the gratuities for that. I was under the impression that you kept the offers from your original booking, though. They will be open in a few hours. I'll give them a call or hit them up on the chat
  4. is there a fee for upgrade advantage? I put in a minimum bid, $75 to go from inside to balcony, but was charged $157.80, instead of $150.
  5. You can search for any recent Encore dailies to get an idea of the meetups/events
  6. If he heads to the pool and/or hot tub area, he'll see plenty of people his age. Also, there is usually a party at night up at spice H2O, and the night club is where the party ends at night. I don't know if it's called Bliss on Encore, but he'll be able to find it
  7. Hello. Is there a cigar shop on GSC? thanks
  8. can you also use the app once you're connected to the ship Wifi?
  9. If you get a spa room, I'm not sure but you probably do get the spa access. You won't get the upgraded free at sea level (another free dinner). You can't bid on a suite from your current inside cabin
  10. There is nothing like your home toilet when it's time to read the newspaper. It's the first thing I say hi to when I get home 😁
  11. Wow. It really looks like it's a toss up. Guess I'll find out next week. I'll just catch a taxi outside of whichever port we dock
  12. Anyone know if there is a cigar shop on GSC?
  13. Yes, there is a TV in the cigar lounge. The nice thing about watching in there is the sound is on. Plus, I'm a cigar smoker. The reason I'm doubtful about the big screen at H2O is because I'm interested in the Sunday night game which won't be over until almost midnight. I'm sure there will be some party/event planned. They may show the 1:00 and 4:00 game though. Especially since we'll be in port this day
  14. It has nothing to do with not tipping. My first cruise, I simply didn't know you could check your bags and no one offered to check them. Since then, I've seen no need to check them. I don't want to wait around for my bag to show up or worse, get lost. I have checked them at the luggage storage area before and tipped the attendant. So, it's actually interesting that this is what you think
  15. I'm also boarding next Saturday on the Getaway and I've been following this thread with the hope to watch the Cowboys Eagles game next Sunday night. i would love for it to be shown on the big screen at Spice H2O, but I'm not holding my breath on that one. I'd take the cigar lounge though
  16. They won't be showing that at all. Now, if you're interested in watching the return of the Dak Attack, and the de-feathering of the little green birds, then that would be something to ask about. HOW BOUT DEM COWBOYS!!! :)
  17. that doesn't really have any bearing on whether they can show the game or not. I don't think NCL has any of the networks, but they do show football games. I've seen games before and someone above just completed a cruise and confirmed that they were able to see the Sunday, Monday, and Thursday games which represent NBC, Fox, CBS, ESPN, and Amazon games
  18. actually, this is just the schedule for that particular channel. It doesn't represent all the channels that NCL offer. So I still have hope for catching the Sunday night game which is a NBC game
  19. Thanks for this. I certainly hope the site is wrong, or NCL has another feed available. There are no NFL games listed for the next three weeks. They do have opening night NBA games scheduled though
  20. No, but you should still be able to add it if it's still at least 48 hours before you sail. It's going to be based on your original cabin anyway so it's not like you'll be getting something better with the upgrade.
  21. You can't actually change the card on your current bid, unfortunately. You have to cancel your current bid and submit a new one with the new card info.
