  1. My snow lollipops & poor flamingos. Ended up with 18” here, but the melt is on!! Melody
  2. Little bit of snow this morning (about 11-12” so far). Going to snow all day. Won’t last long. We really need this moisture. Melody
  3. Nellies bottled onions, liquid & all. Get them at Walmart, Safeway, Kroger, King Soopers (probably at Publix too). You can use frozen Pearl onions too (just add at least a cup of water or white wine with frozen.
  4. Book it on line. As soon as you board go to the glass blowing area & select your day & time. We selected first thing in the morning on a sea day. Fascinating process & will definitely do this again. Your final cost is determined on what you make. The bigger the item, the more expensive. One hint. Bring a roll of bubble wrap, they only have brown wrapping paper. Enjoy
  5. That recipe is my go to for company as it’s easy & pretty. Slice the tenderloin & arrange the veggies around it. snow is due to start about noon & go till Sunday morning. I’d be really happy with rain
  6. Kat, weather! We’ve been bone dry & in the 90s now for over a week. Tomorrow that changes. We’re expecting the high to be 28 tomorrow thru Sunday & 8-12” of heavy concrete snow. We need the moisture but that’ll break all the trees down, sigh. We’ll bring in what we can & cover with trash cans/big pots what we can’t. Feast or famine. another idea for pork tenderloin. Sauté the pork in a little butter. Smother with a jar of bottled onions (Nellies, not martini olives) & a can of diced tomatoes, you can add a sliced bell pepper (any color) too. Lower heat, cover & simmer for an hour. Hubs likes his over mashed potatoes, I eat as is. Melody
  7. I don’t even go upstairs in my house in the morning without my sunscreen. I’ve had so many skin cancers (& I go back for more removals on the 31st). I wear sunscreen under makeup, slather it on hands, arms & legs. I’ve been doing a lot of gardening & I still got a bit pink yesterday with SPF hat, long sleeved SPF shirt, SPF lightweight pants & gobs of sunscreen. I think it’s windburn!!! Melody
  8. Not smart to try for one pair, what if it breaks?? Daughter had one pair of dressy sandals & her sneakers…yup, sandals broke. She wore her sneakers everywhere (& wasn’t happy about it)
  9. I bought a new suitcase for the same reason at Macys this weekend. I bit the bullet & bought another Tumi for a carryon
  10. Kat I think you’re talking about the Saldo Zinfandel (bottled by Prisoner). It’s a Napa Valley wine, not Portugal. The Juan Gill red blend is a Spanish red. Both are fabulous Fires still present, but mostly under control…we’re safe. Melody
  11. We spent the day yesterday ready to evacuate because of fires in Colorado Springs. Closest they came to us was 3 miles. We had sustained winds at 40mph & gusts to 80mph, humidity was less than 5% & temperatures in the 80s. Today looks like more of the same. We badly need some rain, day 102 without moisture!! Melody
  12. Laurie, it sounds like things are falling into place for your daughter! Have a great girls cruise!!!
  13. Lois, fabulous news!!! Kat, send us that weather. 94 yesterday & no moisture for over 40 days
  14. Lois, good luck at the doctor I've been having migraines from our incessant wind (it’s never been as bad here). Really warm here too. I love the warmth, but we so need some moisture. Our ac is running all the time ( really unusual to have it on this early). for those of you that love a good hard cheese, try the Cabernet cheese block at Costco. We had it yesterday at our oldest daughters on a multigrain cracker with our younger daughter homemade blueberry jam. Really good Kat, have you tried Silk & Spice red blend? It’s very smooth, especially for an $11 bottle of wine. Melody
  15. Debbie, have a fabulous trip, feel well. Purple, ,you’ve had a heck of a couple of weeks hope you avoid everything too. Great score on the upgrade!!
  16. We’ll have the same issue with our doc, it’ll be in the next couple of years. We’ve gone to him since we moved to CO in 1983. My husband really likes him. He won’t bring someone in, he’ll close the practice 😢 tell your daughter, more vacation time!! Have her stay at your house tge night before so she doesn’t oversleep!!!
