  1. On our most recent cruise on the Freedom of the Seas on 30 November, we were in the OS 1340 our luggage tag sent from Royal only had our Diamond Plus Status, no mention of suite. Other family members who were staying a JS had no suite or status on their tag that they had to print. Another funny point one of our son's had his Diamond Status on his tags and his brother who is also a Diamond had none.

Lately, this has been hit or miss. When I was looking at tags of other passengers luggage on the Deck 10, I never saw any with suite.

Sorry to butt into this thread, but we have 1340 on our next FOS cruise. How did you enjoy the room ? Was there a good view from the balcony ? Any input is greatly appreciated !

  2. We sail pretty much exclusively in suites, so this thread caught my attention.

I'm on the Freedom next month in an Owners Suite and I'm really hoping the suites are going to be refreshed during the dry dock taking place right now.

The suites like any other accommodation take a beating 365 days a year - not making excuses however. I feel if I am paying top dollar to cruise in a suite, attention to detail on the cruise lines part is paramount. Things like having to ask for toiletries daily is unacceptable in my opinion.

We sailed in the Royal Suite last February on the Adventure, and while we loved the space (it's huge!) we were disappointed that many of the "features" of this special suite were not in working order. Our trip was not ruined, but I was surprised that even the most expensive suite on the ship was neglected.

I agree completely with Patti about the Concierge - it is hit or miss sometimes. On my Explorer cruise in November 2013 we had a fantastic and attentive Concierge - he couldn't do enough for us (even though we really didn't ask for anything!) and then we board the Adventure a few months later in the Royal Suite and the Concierge really didn't reach out to us at all. I had planned a party for about 40 people in the suite and was basically left to do it all myself....

Hello, not trying to take over the thread, but we are on FOS in OS 1340 in a few months and have heard some good rumors about what will happen in dry dock. Could you please write a review when you get back ? We heard the DL and CL were moving and no more Portifino's ! Thanks

  3. Any way to delay the muster drill? Lol

The packer game starts at 1 and muster drill is at 4. I'm hoping the game doesn't come down to the last few plays because I'm most likely going to miss it.

And before anyone jumps down my throat, I'm kidding! I know how important the muster drill is. As much as I love my Green Bay Packers I am thrilled that I'll be on a cruise ship during the game!

DVR it at home, but the game should be over by half time, I'll say Pack 52, Cowboys 3.

  4. We have done MTD on our last few cruises and haven't had a problem at all ! We haven't sailed on Oasis, but on our Allure cruise I reserved MTD at 7 each night. It was as easy as showing up just before 7 to the desk, telling the girl our room number and being escorted to our table! We never had to wait to get in and only once the table we had was occupied but we sat right next to it and still had the same waiters each night. We have MTD booked for our upcoming cruises also !

  5. Hello, we are sailing out of Port Everglades on our next cruise, and staying at Embassy suites on 17th street. Can anyone tell me what the best private transportation is, or are there enough taxi's available we won't have to worry about getting there. We have always used Royals transportation in the past, but are venturing out on our own this time. Thanks in advance !

  6. Thanks. :)

I just noticed something. The layout of the Owner's Suite on the RC website doesn't match the photo next to it. Vanity in different location, and layout doesn't have a wall of sliding doors out to balcony.

    Which is correct?

The little image is wrong ! It makes it look like there is an L shape near the balcony ! The balcony runs the entire length of the suite, with a door near the sectional and one near the bed ! The vanity is on the other side of the bed. The TV is in the center between the sectional and bed and it rotates around between the two areas !

  7. If I'm looking to book on Freedom of the Seas and the ship gets back into port at 6 AM, can I catch a 10:30 AM flight from Orlando? Also would RCI run the shuttle that early to Orlando Airport? Thanks for your help!!

No ! We usually use Royals transportation, and have been told by them they won't let you transfer if your flight is before noon ! I'm guessing they don't want to be responsible if you re late ! Your best bet is to call Royal and check !
