We were on a Koningsdam cruise after it sustained damage to the cabanas during a bad wind storm. They were not available during our cruise while being replaced. It happens.

I have been on the Maasdam, the Nieuw Amsterdam and the Koningsdam. The dining rooms have mostly armed chairs but all three have also had armless chairs. Just ask your server for one and it will be there every day for you. I have not seen armless chairs at the Lido but I have at the Pinnacle Grill.
The single bed should support her, if her weight is what is listed.
As mentioned above, a handicapped room will be needed. They do have to be booked ahead but it is not unusual to have vacant ones close to cruise time. We have been given them as a Guarantee during the last week.

Why, as a Canadian, on a ship in international waters , should I care about your 1st amendment?
After our cruise last November, during your election, we have now opted to get a table for 2 in the MDR.

Had it on the Koningsdam. Approximately 10-12 different bite sizes treats. Very yummy!

We did a 16 day med cruise this September/October on the Koningsdam with our 30 year old daughter. She loved it and there were young people on the ship. I think the region helped with that. There are far more Europeans of all ages on these cruises (though not many children). We purchased beverage cards prior to the cruise and that worked great for us.
I have also been on the NCL Spirit and although I enjoyed the cruise (again with my daughter) it was a party boat and our cruise offered a free drink package. The ship was full of drunks for the first 2 day, than we hit bad weather and it was full of a seasick, hungover crowd for a couple of days!
Certainly not the fault of the Spirit, just a complication that comes with free drinks and a younger crowd.

Beautiful pic! We took a similar one in September when we were there with the Koningsdam.

We have enjoyed them on both the Nieuw Amsterdam and the Koningsdam. They do not take requests. Although they call it Blues they also do Motown and disco. A lot of 70’s and 80’s.

We recently spent 16 days on the Koningsdam in a V and the shower was a good size. We are pleasantly plump and the shower was comfortable for us. The angle on the toilet was a little off but manageable.

Where is the free sauna? I sailed the Kdam on a 4 night in Nov. 2016 and did not see a free sauna.
Im on again Feb.2018 and would like to know if I buy the soda and coffe pkg. can I get soda in the dining room or do have to bring it from the freestyle machine near the buffet?
Re: freestyle soda. Your key card will have an indication on it that you have the package. You can order soda in the dining room and they will bring you a glass. No need to bring the freestyle cup into the dining room.

I was just on the Koningsdam and the answer is no.

OP may be referring to the pop up Sel de Mer nights in the Pinnacle Grill.

Thanks! We are packed and waiting to fly out early for Amsterdam.
Puppycanducruise - we are also near Lake Huron!

It is the size of the ships, not the age of the ships, that is the reason for them doing this itinerary. Large ships cannot go under the bridges. We took this cruise on the Maasdam and had a great cruise!

They have both European and North/South American sockets side by side.

With the K having the Tamarind, I chose that over the Pinnacle for my birthday dinner next month. We will try Sel de Mer as well but so enjoyed the Tamarind on the NA that it was my choice for a special dinner. I prefer it to the Pinnacle.

We had a Lido Cabana in the NA last November. Best extra money we have spent on a cruise. Our cabana attendant, Patrick, was very attentive and would bring our breakfact, lunch, drinks, anything we wanted.

How would you pre-purchase OBC from HAL without a credit card? If you call to order, I'm sure they require a c.c. and the same for online purchases. I could be wrong and I'm sure someone could clarify this.
I use my debit card when I purchase from HAL.

The first time I sailed we had a table for 6 and there was just my husband and I and one other couple. We were in our 50's and OMG, they were 90! It turns out that the husband worked for JFK and we spent the week enraptured by the stories at dinner. We could not have been more pleased that we had this couple all to ourselves every night for dinner. They were fascinating people.

Sorry if this shows up twice. There is plenty of storage. There are two large closets and 2 drawers under the bed.

I tried to send a pic but I don't think it worked. The bathroom is larger because there is no tub. The table and chairs worked well for us. The TV is at the end of the bed so it cannot be watched from the loveseat anyway but the chairs can be moved if you do not want to lay in bed to watch. Plus it was nice to have room service breakfast at the table. The balcony was great as we could look straight out and to the back.

We had one on her sister ship, the Nieuw Amsterdam. It was a nice room. There were no cons as far as we were concerned. The washroom was huge and there was a table and chairs. Our balcony was on the diagonal and a good size. Do you have specific questions in regards to these rooms?

We were in a Veranda on the NA and there were 2 large drawers under the bed, accessed from the end of the bed. I didn't notice them until I tried to shove the suitcase under the bed. They were by far the largest drawers in the room. There was still room under the bed for the suitcases.

We had a veranda on the Maasdam so they must be sold out.
