There is no casino royal tier of Platinum.  There is Choice, Prime, Signature and Masters.

Platinum is that person's Crown and Anchor designation.  My Casino offers say Pinnacle on them and I am prime in the Casino. The Odyssey offer was given to me as well, but I am already booked for that cruise.

  2. Dr. Walensky made it clear that the CDC is not making the decision to move forward with the Conditional Sailing Order on its own; there are other "agencies" involved.

I believe the government has its own agenda as it has demonstrated in the past and until it gets something in return, albeit, at the very least, assurances that the cruise industry will in no way burden the American public.

When the US government has an non-US industry that they can hold over a barrel, they tend to do it.

My reference point for feeling this way --- Remember the bygone days when you could win any amount of money onboard in the Casino and not be given a W2-G.   With the existence and planned builds for larger ships, RCG wanted to be able to move more money than they currently could by U.S law,  but it would need to go through Federal Reserve Banks in order to do so. The "give" was W=2G's to be issued to US citizens so that Uncle Sam could have a piece of the action. The "get" was a change in the amount of money that could be transferred.

I believe the "give" has yet to be decided upon.

    Here's my WAG...

Oasis in Bayonne is cancelled for 2021 so they'll move her to PC to do 3 and 4 night cruises for a restart.

If you are going to dream, dream big...

I don't know what they will do with her, but I don't see her sailing out of Cape Liberty this summer.  Too much going on in NY/NJ for that to happen.

Hell no, nobody getting the poison in my family.  Many people having very bad reactions and some dying.

At 70+ years of age, I had both of my Moderna vaccines completed by Feb. 14th. The first one made me a little tired. The second one I had no reaction to it other than it hurt if I pressed on the injection site.  If I had contracted Covid19, it would have likely been a guaranteed death sentence as I have had non-cf bronchiectasis since childhood.

No.  But those I spoke to were doing back to backs.  Some more.

I was there starting Jan. 5th and left in Feb. to board Serenade, for 31 nights so, yes. The CL was restricted during that time.  I heard that there had been a sailing in Dec. in which D+ was allowed in. When I boarded Serenade, the lounge was also restricted to suite and pinnacle guest as well.

This thread was a question about Ossis (Class). I have never been on Quantum Class ship. We do have Odyssey booked in December. Eagerly waiting to see what the Lounge is called on her.

In the 2 to 3 months preceding covid, Anthem's lounge was still a CL, but consistently only Suite and Pinnacle guests were allowed in. In January, one of the officers let it slip that it was going to be that way from then on.

It has been suggested on these boards that those people should be forced to go to the hospital and get the vaccine (where they could be treated should an anaphylactic episode occur) just so people can cruise or so that we can "get back to normal".

I did not suggest that nor do I agree with that. I do, however, feel that though it is unfortunate, those who can not for medical reasons be vaccinated should look to other venues for their vacation rather than place other people's lives in jeopardy.

While I agree with many of the things you say, there are times when the "few" need to have their voices heard. Let's suppose you are allergic to dogs. You are on a flight somewhere and a person with a service dog sits next to you on the flight. Do you know who gets off the flight? YOU! That person/dog have more "rights" than you do. Is it "fair"? That depends on who you ask.

How many times have we seen in the news where one person can complain about something and everyone else has to adjust to that one. Take peanut allergies. If one child has a peanut allergy, no one in the class/cafeteria could have a peanut butter sandwich. You get the idea.

I am allergic to dogs and have requested my seat be changed, through the years several times from first class to premium. In that case, yes, there is an exception. However,  peanut allergies can be life threatening and don't deserve to be compared to someone's personal preference to not to get vaccinated.

  10. Should anyone take issue with what I have written, I ask only that you not quote my words out of context which is a commonplace issue on CC. I am writing this to make my thoughts known for your consideration and not to debate.

I believe that full vaccination against Covid19 should be mandatory. Yes, that would exclude those with health conditions that disqualify them from receiving the vaccine as well as those who choose not to receive the vaccine.

However, taking a cruise is not a necessity. It,  too,  is a choice.  Should the cruise lines require a vaccination in order to cruise, then those people who can not be vaccinated should understand that they should choose another type of vacation where they do not put other people's lives at risk.

The CDC and the AMA have stated that the percentage of people who should not be vaccinated due to medical conditions is a very small percentage as compared to those who should be able to be immunized with few effects.

Published statistics from every poll which questioned the willingness of passengers to be vaccinated in order to cruise shows the overwhelming majority willing to do so.

As for those who make the choice to not be vaccinated, I feel there is absolutely no time where someone else's life should ever be placed in jeopardy because of another's PERSONAL PREFERENCE.

I have environmental allergies, one of which is to strong perfume. Inhaling it often brings on an asthma attack that may or may not require me to go to the hospital to be stabilized. I take medications in order to reduce the likelihood of a severe attack, but that is not a 100% guarantee that I will not have an attack if exposed to the allergen.

So, is it fair if I ask you and the rest of the world to no longer wear perfume?

Should Macy's remove their perfume counter so I don't have to avoid walking in that area of the store?

Should people on formal night on a cruise be told they can not wear perfume or cologne because it may trigger my asthma?

No, that would not be fair.

As the person who is in the minority, I am the one who modifies my activities and does not go to places where I might encounter something that triggers my asthma.

People who choose to not be vaccinated or can not do so for medical reasons should do the same. To quote Spock, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few."

How about a Pinnacle exclusive lounge on Oasis Class and leave the Suite Lounge to Suites (GS and above)?

    M8

M8, The separate SL and a lounge for Pins may become a reality down the line. but I don't see RCG creating any waves when cruising first starts up again.  As for me, I am a solo cruiser and I enjoy the SL as it is a quiet place to spend part of my day as well as it is a convenient place to meet up with friends I have made through the years as well as to socialize with new acquaintances.  (I don't drink and have a limited diet so the nibbles and the booze has little attraction for me.)

If they are not in a full suite,  NO
But ask the concierge,I think they may look the other way .

Not likely to look the other way. Whenever I take my granddaughter (I am usually a solo cruiser) I have to book a GS instead of my usual JS or Balcony so just so she can come into the Lounge. Now, especially with social distancing, we may see time frames assigned for use of the Lounge by Pinnacles and Full Suites and the concierge will likely not be as blind.
