  1. One thing Carnival is consistent at, is inconsistency. Stuff like that happens to me ALL the time.
How true!!! As plats, we`re supposed to have disembark bags of section 1. This last cruz, we got section 9.

No big whoop! Worked out perfect...as the plats were all in section 1 fighting to grab their bags, we went down to section 9 (nobody there) grabbed our bags and went on to customs and got an early Avis shuttle. I was on Cocoa Beach at 10:30 with a tall boy!:)

  2. Will the Vista have the outdoor theater? I haven't been able to find it on any pictures and I am looking forward to movies under the stars on the trans-atlantic.

Wish it wouldn`t. Hate that stupid TV in the morning and dopey CD morning show. Had Wee Jimmy a few weeks ago. Thought I was gonna go postal once or twice.

A big reason that we cruz is to get away from TV, iPad, email etc.

    Oh well, things change

  3. Strange feeling after stepping off The Sunshine last Sunday. Was pretty glad to be going home.

17 cruzes under our belt. Since then my wife and have spoken a few times about "It just didn`t take" We`re not going again for a while.

The cruz components were all there-Good service, weather, ports and food.

Now looking at a Costa Rica mobile land vaca in spring.

Was just wondering if anybody else ever felt this way??? Is there a magic number?

  4. Entertainment: Well....besides the casino,lol---we enjoy comedy and were in luck! Lots of comedy on Sunshine. We attended the 11:15 adults only show each night it was offered and enjoyed the four different entertainers very much. Room is hugely inadequate for the amount of people that want to attend, which I knew from reading here. Got in line every night at 10:30 (as that show was starting) and had a choice of a good seat at 11:15. Waiting in line on vacation for 45 minutes is not a great way to spend vacation time--but when in Rome, lol!

Chair Hogs/ Space In General: We are from Minnesota--Minnesota nice and all that, lol! This is an area that was a disappointment. The morning we left for this cruise it was 11 below zero---we want sun on vacation. Fighting for a chair is not my idea of fun. Carnival can and SHOULD do better. As to space in general: have to admit, felt pretty crowded at times!

Ports: We were excited to be visiting 3 ports we had never been: Aruba, Bonaire, Grand Turk. Huge disappointment that we could not dock in Aruba due to high winds--but that's the breaks. Enjoyed beach time in Bonaire and Grand Turk.

Disembarking: We did self assist and were off and on our way to the airport by 9:00 Am--no problems!

Was on the same cruz and with the exception of "RCI`s better buffet" (we found almost all of RCI`s food barely edible) totally agree with you. Good review!
  5. Perhaps, it was because we sailed The Allure previous to The Sunshine, a few days ago, with all it`s fantastic shows, venues and continuous live music.

Not only are the corny, but fun production skits (Tribute to America-etc....) gone, but replaced with street corner jugglers and salute to Motown, 80s etc., horrid singers.

The only real quality entertainment was the George Lopez comedy club. The comedians were hilarious, both family and 18+ shows. The adult shows weren't laced with easy comic profanities, but incredibly clever routines.

Pax, however, desperate for quality (like us) had to wait in line 20 to 45 minutes to get just a decent seat. The lines increased every night.

To end on a positive note, the food variety and quality has moved up a notch or two and service (room and wait staff) were great. JMHO

  9. Must be something about the Glory. Our worst cruz as far as noise from neighbors. They would come in late all liquored up, talk loud on the balcony, slam doors etc.

I approached them and asked courteously if they wouldn`t mind toning it down or partying on deck. NO RESULTS. I called security...no help.

Well they started getting 6AM 6:15AM 6:30AM wake up calls from uh... somebody in in the dining room daily. The last two days at sea were quiet...Maybe they were sleepysmiley_to_sleep020.gif

  11. The diving. If you're not certified, then you probably are missing out. I've heard it's one of the top 10 places on earth to scuba and I can't wait to go there to dive.

At the risk of being negative...I see Diving, Snorkeling, Diving, Snorkeling,

Diving, Snorkeling (can`t even walk on the "cut your feet up "beaches") Flamingos, butterflies and donkeys.

    I Want Curacao

and yes I`m a certified open water diver, but my wife is not and really does not enjoy snorkeling

So for the 3rd tyme-Aside from: Flamingos, butterflies, donkeys ...oh and SALT, what does one do in the B of the ABC`s?

  12.

Just to show the difference between people and what they enjoy, I would much rather go to Jamaica than Grand Cayman, really don't like St Thomas because of the crowds but I do love Tortola.I like Bonaire better than Curaçao but Curaçao is still a wonderful port. To each their own!

Our Sunshine trip is subject to the change. When I looked at the Bonaire site, just about all I saw was Snorkleing~ Snorkleing~Snorkleing

Please... what is so great about Bonaire? It`s one of the very few islands that we`ve never been to.
