  1. Thanks for all the help exactly what I was looking for. Last thing on To Do List is calling Verizon. I need to keep in touch with my single daughter and grandchild. Does anyone know of a spot where I can send a quick text message while in port?

  2. Excited to be going in May! Let's talk cash and how much I might need. I know I need the balance, 17 for taxi each way, and some tip money! How much did you tip your waiter? Does the 17.00 taxis ride include the tip? I have to go read my receipt, but I need the balance in cash right? I'll take my own towel and float. Anything I'm missing ???

    Thanks for the help.

  3. Thank you. We have already purchased the Mystery Dinner on the first night in the Italian restaurant, and the Lafite Wine tasting. I will be on the lookout for the sushi class.

@Robtx100, I noticed you already booked your speciality reservations for June 2015. We are sailing in May 2015 on the Navigator and the reservations don't seem to be open. When I click on the RC link it states....there seems to be a problem, you are either booking too early or too late.

How did you get your reservations for June?

    Thank you for your help!

  4. Aloha CoolChange37,

We lived in Hawaii Kai (Honolulu) for three years. Relax, you can't get lost. Ala Moana Blvd is a no brainer. You will be able to see the ship from the road. Unless, they have changed things in the last 18 months, there will only be one mega ship in port at a time.

Are you arriving a day or so early? If so, if you have any questions ask away!

Off the top of my head.....

Don't pay the online companies that deliver your lei at the airport. The airport has their own lei stand on the outside of the airport. Half the price and much fresher. And they love to barter for the price. Road underneath the elevated airport entrance ramps. Or all CVS stores have them.

Rental Cars....ouch! Cars are not at airport. Shuttles. Alamo is a cluster. I know they are the cheapest on the island but not a nice way to start your vacation. The line to get your car is alway a nightmare.

    Ask away!

  5. Aloha!

We lived in Hawaii Kai (Honolulu) for three years. I think you would have a better time flying into Honolulu and then cruising with NCL. Yes, it's port heavy and a world wind of port after port but a great way to see each island. If you like relaxing...I would fly into Honolulu and stay at the Marriott Ko Olina for two or three nights. It's outside of Honolulu and perfect if you don't like crowds.

I don't think you will notice that much difference in the service on board...no matter what flag they are flying. We had a wonderful time!

I miss seeing NCL every Saturday night cruise right by our house.

  6. I hate to be a party pooper but this stinks. I realize that we can choose to do nothing, but all this pre-planning is getting crazy. We sail the Navigator in May and it's been since 2006 on RC.

First you have to decide early ,late or MTD. We picked late and didn't understand that you have to go to the early shows before dinner. Ouch! Don't want to do show before dinner. No sweat because we usually do the speciality restaurants. Now, I find out it's better to book online if you want a certain day and time! If I want to catch the 8:30 show ...dinner around 6:30pm ??

Now, I have to book tickets for the shows! LOL I need a travel agent and spread sheet to keep up with the dinners, show, excursions and tender tickets!

    Thanks for letting me vent!

  7. I need a dive question answered for my sister.

They will be first time cruisers on the Navigator and want to dive in Cozumel. Both are certified in the US. They have booked a two tank dive in Cozumel with RC. Reading the fine print it talks about everything except the regulator.

Do they need to bring or rent their own regulators? Thank you for your help!

  8. Howdy NiC Nac4498,

Hope you are having a great time. We are doing this cruise in May. Is the formal night on Monday? If you have a chance could you post the daily "name" of menus.

    Mojo

    Saffron

    Pimiento

    Basil

    ****ake

    Jasmine

    Pomodoro

We like to eat at a lot of the specialty restaurants and would like to plan what night to skip the MDR.

    Have fun!

  9. Mitsugirly, thank you for the great review of LFK I've been so confused with all this different Keys....Little French Keys, Antony's Key, Maya Keys. We will be sailing RC Navagator in 2015. If I understand this right, the only way to get to LFK is on your own??? I think I've figured out Maya Keys, but I can't locate Antony's Key. I can see it on Google Earth.

  10. Aloha Donna,

Thank you again for all the awsome information....it bet it blows my books away that I just ordered from Amazon.

Anyway, I was wondering if I could suggest something without being rude. I might be getting old and confused, :D but I'm having a hard time with information like Day 1 Day 2 Day 8....It looks like some of the time the islands are visited in a different direction...so I have to go back and see if I can figure out what Day 8 was.

Now, I'm thinking I really messed up because I booked starboard on the advise of an NCL rep and friend. Looks like everyone on this board is saying port side. Should I change cabins? Deck 8 mid ship starboard....

Looking forward to more of the review.

  11. Aloha,

I've been a member of CC since 2003 and this is the best review I've ever read! I'm serious! You may not have told us everything that we WANTED to hear, but you've told it straight up! Pictures too! It's taken me a couple of nights to get through it, but it's been fun reading.

I need to print and get started with my highlighter! I hope you check back often so we can fire off some questions. Since we live on the island of Oahu, we will be using the POA as our floating hotel....and understand it won't be the same as our other cruises. It still comes out much cheaper to take the cruise instead of island hopping. If you include RT airfare for two, hotel and food to any island for a long weekend..you spend somewhere between 500-1,000. If I do that for three different islands plus separate boarding for the pups....I'm way over the cost of the cruise. Floating hotel here we come!

    Mahalo!
