We travel with 3 large soft sided suitcases. All three fit under the bed. We always have the CBP and all the drinks (brands and types) we have are covered by it. Why not wait and see for yourself. You can always upgrade to the PBP when your onboard if your favorite brands aren't included in the CBP.  If you upgrade front CBP to PBP the difference will be $10.00 + 18% gratuity ($11.80) per day, per person .

    Thank you!

  2. 2 questions... (first Celeb cruise!)

we are on The Edge next Sunday. Will a suitcase fit under the bed? If not, where do most store them? We are in an IV cabin

also - I guess we got the Classic beverage package when I booked. They say drinks up to $9 are included. As I understand most drinks and even a glass of wine may be more, do you recommend the Premium? Does that actually cover the cost of a single drink?

    Thanks! Susan

  3. Thank you so much for the positive review! I have been reading other not so positive reviews and have been having a pitt in my stomach thinking about my 83 year old mom's and my first ever Celebrity cruise the end of January.  We are loyal Royal Caribbean cruisers.

Question about disembarking... Can you do "self-assist" to get off the ship, meaning you walk off with your own bags in tow as soon as the ship clears customs?  I have an early flight back...  Thanks and thanks again for taking the time to write all this!

Thought I would toss this into the mix. At 83, how mobile is your mother? The SV and 1A/1B are pretty far away from elevator. You might qualify for a handicap accessible cabin... they are larger than regular IV cabin. Anyway if mobility is an issue, you might consider renting a scooter... if you so so... look for a cabin with bed by the window for more room.... unless you do get an accessible cabin.

Luckily she is quite spry! I am still undecided on what I will do. Perhaps I’ll wait it out and see if there are any price drops on suites between now and then. Fat chance, I know!

I agree - the Concierge benefits are not worth much except perhaps on the older M-class ships where the staterooms are bigger.

If you'd really prefer a stateroom on the Edge without the infinite verandah, your choices are small in regard to balcony cabins. As we weren't sure ourselves if we'd like an infinite balcony which might give us an enclosed feeling we booked a SV-category verandah room right at the aft of the ship for our Med cruise. The only alternative I'd know of are the ones in cat. 1B/1A which are the cheapest balcony cabins but as far as I could see the balconies are tiny and closed in ( the small round ones on the picture of the ship). SV cat. gives you a huge balcony and a larger cabin - but it's a long walk from the stern to the front...

Thank you ~ I called the Captains Club number and inquired.  Sunset Verandas are sold out ~ ugh!  She did say I could switch to a 1B/1A .  I will say she wasn't the most knowledgeable rep as she did not think SV's were on the Edge!

As they are guarentee rooms, I'm wondering if there is a chance we would still end up with the Infinite Balcony instead of a true (althoughsmallish) balcony.   Assuming SMALL chance we would be able to grab a SV!

  6. Hello Celebrity Cruisers!

Need some assistance -- Mom (83 years young) and I are virgin Celebs and have a lot of history with Royal (we will start out as Elite when we board).  We are booked on the Edge the end of January in an Infinite Veranda.  Mom LOVES a balcony and I just realized that the infinite veranda isn't really a balcony as she is accustomed.  It looks as if the only way to have a true balcony is with a suite?  Please correct me if I am wrong...

So -- being that a suite is beyond what we are willing to pay, I am considering a Concierge room instead.  These appear to be the same size as the room I already have booked for us.  So my question is, do you think it is worthwhile to move to a Concierge Class room?  What sort of advantages are there?

Please help me decide!  It looks as if Concierge also has the same infinite balcony scenario....  Thank you!  Susan

  7. arg... Received a text about a last chance for a quick check in for our cruise this Sunday. i have downloaded the mobile app on my iphone to do online check in. Where do i find the option to scan my passport?

I see where it says "View SetSail Pass" and when I touch that it says it is unable to display and to proceed to the check in counter... I have already printed out hard copy of setsail, perhaps that is why??

    Thank you!

  8. Question:

We are boarding this Sunday on Symphony. My boyfriend and his 2 kids (16 and 18) have never cruised ( I am Diamond) He booked us 2 staterooms, one with he and his son and one with me and the 18 year old daughter. The rooms are not adjoining, but are on same deck. He and I would like to be together in one room and kids in another. What is the best way to accomplish this?

    Thank you! Susan

  9. Do they even look at the usability? A couple of times I've went to make payments and when entering the reservation number, which is 7 digits, the form says that it must be 9 digits. I added zeros at the end (about 6 of them until the warning went away then hit backspace back to the correct 7 and made the payment. A dumb way to make it work. The usability part was bad enough. From a page that has your reservation number and sail date, you click on the payment and then it clears the screen and then asks you for that number. Why the head of RCI isn't going through their web and IT group and not just escorting people out the door is beyond me.

    Ditto on that!

It makes no sense if we are logged into the website, have clicked on our reservation and then it asks you for the reservation and sail date. Oh my word!! I finally convinced my bf to cruise for the first time this summer and just this website is causing him to reconsider Royal Caribbean ever again.
