80 days prior to sailing, you will see a prompt on your MyNCL home page inviting you to bid. I think that this resolves the problem with travel agents opting out of the process during the pilot period.

Someone who is on my upcoming escape cruise booked with a big box travel agency that opted out of the upgrade bidding system, is still unable to bid as it is not on his NCL.com page.

FYI, some travel agents have opted out of the new upgrading system.

My next trip to Honduras is just under 2 years away. I'm really interested in seeing the sloths. I will be alone. Can anyone give more info on getting to the sloth hangout? Cost? Do they provide transportation? How far away from Coxen Hole is it?

I use the card for everything, but I don't use it just to get the 1% back. It's worth more to cash it in towards room upgrades. It's worth it to me. So far 90,000 points has given me $4300 worth of upgrades. You do the math.

Got to pay for the "free" beverage package some how.

Has anyone been on the 4x4 North Coast Safair and Beach Break with snack through Carnival cruise lines? Which beach do we go to? And is there an opportunity to get lunch during this 6 hour excursion?

My husband who is ULTRA freaky about the smell of smoke has never mentioned smelling smoke in that area.

Welcome to spring break and the cost of sailing out of NY which is more expensive than say Miami.

Poor Star. I hope NCL just fixes the darn thing completely before sending her out on any more cruises. I think people would rather have cruises cancelled than a crappy cruise with 1 port.

I've been on all the ships mentioned in this thread - Grandeur, Anthem, Pride and Breakaway.

You want to do something SPECIAL on your 50th birthday? Grandeur is NOT it. While I'm a HUGE fan of NCL, for that time of year I wouldn't do Breakaway since there's no pool areas that are covered. I had a great time on Pride. I would sail her again, but there's no bells and whistles. Even if it's a shorter trip, you really need to look at Anthem out of NJ. It's the best designed ship I have been on.

I don't know why NCL doesn't do more southern Caribbean routes. Maybe you should look in to booking Carnival Vista out of Miami. I am doing their southern Caribbean cruise this August.

I saw it on the Star last year. I had no idea that was done on other ships. It's funny and nasty at the same time. :eek:

I am another fan of packing cubes. I got a set of eBags through Amazon for less than what eBags sells them for. It is amazing how it condenses all your clothes down. I am able to take a smaller suitcase that way. If only I could get my husband to convert! They also make unpacking much easier. A lot of the stuff I can just leave in the bag, slap it in a drawer, and call it done.

It's called the cost of supply and demand.

I can't speak to NCL's excursion, as my husband and son did it through an outside company. Their biggest complaint was having to be pulled through the water since it's not deep enough to float through the cave.

You don't tender. There is a pier at the private island called harvest caye. It is nowhere near Belize city.

Sign up your kids for splash Academy while waiting in the port terminal. There will be a table with a couple of NCL staff to assist.

Well since the escape is just a bigger tweaked version of the breakaway, I doubt you're going to like breakaway. What did you not like about escape?
