Go to the Aruba board and ask ArbuaLisa. She is the expert on Aruba on this board.

Aruba was fantastic! We did a private snorkeling and had one of the best days we've experienced on a cruise. So much so, we are looking to repeat our cruise there. And while I'm not a shopper in real life, Aruba has some great shopping too!

We just booked the day pass for the Occidental Grand Aruba for November. Do you know about what the cost of a taxi each way is for 4 people? I know the taxi's charge by the taxi not by the person.

We also love in N. Ga.

Did all four of you pay $150.00 each to spend the day at Occidental? If so, that means that you are paying $600.00 for the day. There are a few hotels that allow you to rent a room for the day and use their facilities for a lot less. Renaissance Marina Hotel rents for under $200.00 a night during that time of year. The last that I heard, each room allowed 4 guests. That would mean that you would all get a key card that would give you access to their beautiful private island. You would have to buy your own drinks and lunch, but it would be much cheaper than what you are paying for Occidental. I also believe that you can use both pools at both of their locations, which are across the street from each other.

The Holiday Inn in Palm Beach is very nice, just completing renovations. They are on the same beach as Occidental. They also rent rooms by the night, and have a nice beach with a fantastic bar, and some nice places to eat right there and close by.

I just wanted to give you some other options since you are spending so much money on Occidental. I'm not sure of the exact taxi fare, but I'm guessing that it will be about $14.00 - $15.00 per cab, each way, if they pick you up inside of the cruise port. This is for the taxi fare to Occidental, or anywhere along Palm Beach.

Can someone please tell me how to book day passes at the Rennaissance? I have tried emailing the resort with no response. Is there a link somewhere? I am down to a couple of weeks before our trip. Please help!

I believe that you have to book a day at Renaissance private island when you get there. You will need to walk or take a taxi over to the Renaissance Marina Hotel to book. It is based on availability each day.

It was years ago, but we have done the Renaissance private island twice. Both times we walked from the ship to the resort and booked our passes at the front desk. The passes were not available ahead of time. It is a nice, relaxing day.

I also like the idea of the day room with use of both pools and a room. If that is available, it sounds even better. However, the island day pass includes lunch and one drink. It depends what you are looking for to do with your day.

Forgive me if that has already been answered and I missed it.

I am looking for an all-inclusive (food, drinks and pool access). I don't want to have to worry about paying for food or drinks on top of the cost of getting into the resort.

Looks like Occidental falls into this category. Anything else that's not so expensive ? I saw online that the Riu offers day passes. I believe the cost was $110 PP but I was never able to get the link that they gave me, to work.

There is a website called shoreexcursioneer that sells all-inclusive Occidental day passes for around $85. I was looking at it last week. I haven't decided what we are doing in Aruba yet. I haven't been able to find any other all-inclusive passes.

I just want to add that unless you need a pool, an all inclusive is really not necessary in Aruba. The resorts along Palm Beach are all lined up next to one another. There are places to rent chairs and umbrellas, plenty of beach bars, and lots of places to eat. You can easily walk from one to another to check out what you would like. You can rent chairs near the Radisson and near the Holiday Inn.

We would like to go to the beach, my husband uses a breakdown scooter, does anyone know if the taxi's will take the scooter. Also, how far of a walk would it be to Palm Beach, as he uses a scooter and I can walk if it is not too far from the port. Sorry forgot, arriving on a cruise ship.

Any suggestions

Thanks
