Londongirl8 Posted November 6, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2017 Does anyone have pictures of the inside of the disabled carriage and lifts for the White Pass train trip. Need to see if I can transfer from my mobility scooter to a seat or if I will need to stay on it which is not that comfortable for a three hour round trip. Can't use a wheelchair as my husband is not fit enough to push it. Sent from my iPad using Forums
katisdale Posted November 6, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 6, 2017 I do not have photos. The lift is like a box. You roll into it on the ground and then it rises to the level of the train car where you roll off. You have the option to stay in your scooter/wheelchair or transfer to a seat. The seats were wooden and not all that comfortable. There is an accessible toilet on the train. I really enjoyed the train. The scenery was beautiful. DUTRAVEL Posted November 6, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 6, 2017 I don't have a picture of the lift, but here are pictures from inside the car. The first picture shows the rows of seats. Behind the last row is a large open area where the wheelchairs are strapped down.
Nancyquilts Posted November 7, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 7, 2017 For the best views, sit on the left side of the train.
Londongirl8 Posted November 7, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted November 7, 2017 Thanks for the information and the photos that gives me a good idea what it's like. The seats don't look very comfortable for a three hour round trip Sent from my iPad using Forums
LesaL Posted November 9, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 9, 2017 The scenery is so amazing, the three hours are over way too soon. I would encourage you not to miss a wonderful excursion. Sent from my iPad using Forums
