Transportation to the cruise port.

Can anyone tell me what is the most economical way to get from our hotel to the cruise ship? We will be arriving a few days before our cruise leaves Honolulu. And if you know an approximate cost, that would be great!!:confused:

LOL. Sorry. I wasn't thinking. We don't have a hotel booked yet but I think it's going to be the Holiday Inn Waikiki. :rolleyes:

Taxi from the Airport to the cruise ship is around $30 with tip for 2 people. I assume as you will be staying in Waikiki for a few days, you will be renting a car from the airport.

No we aren't going to be renting a car. We are doing a day tour to Pearl Harbor and the rest of the time just relaxing. This is our 2nd time to Waikiki and we did pretty much all we wanted to do on the 1st trip. We will probably take a shuttle from the airport to our hotel. :)

cheapest is The Bus- 19 0r 20 for $2.50pp Can't have a lot of luggage and must be able to walk some blocks. I've used it several times.

The Royal Hawaiian is an amazing hotel. Great location, great beach, easy access within walking distance of many restaurants and usually has an offer for free buffet breakfast.

Absolutely not true. Have been to Oahu and Waikiki several times...From 3 nights to 7 nights. Never had a rental car. TheBus, shuttles, taxis and walking work just fine. Occasionally use transport associated with particular events, like luaus.

If you rent a car to drive to a hotel in Waikiki they will charge you $20-$25 per night for parking.

It's better to rent a car for just one day to go island touring.
