Lido dining question

The buffet part is included in your cruise fare. The extra charge is for a separate alternative menu.

It does make me worry who writes the stuff on the website, this certainly sounds as if you need to pay all the time -

"Dining 'out' is always an option. For a small supplement visit the Lido restaurant for a casual dining alternative for breakfast, lunch or dinner. As evening falls, taste the delights of our themed dining experiences. Choose from Lotus: delicious Asian cuisine, or perhaps Smokehouse: which offers an exciting American influenced menu. All of our alternative menus are sure to provide an unforgettable culinary experience."

Having just been on the Queen Victoria we found that some of the meals in the Lido Restaurant buffet were better than in the Britannia restaurant. Also, although we do like dressing up, doing it every night for 75 nights became a little tedious. So on a few occasions when the repeat theatre shows were on, we would don casual wear, go to the buffet then return to the cabin to watch tv or sit on the balcony. You have the choice to do what you want. That's the beauty of Cunard.

I’m new to this but from what I’ve read there’s an upcharge of about $20 per person for the “special nights” meals these are different to the usual buffet offerings. The Asian night food offerings look so so good... we love sushi and oriental food ( just not curry ).

There is always a buffet every night in Lido. However at dinner time, a small part of the dining area because a special theme restaurant which you need to pay extra for.

The regular buffet is still open for dinner - no charge.
