mercury7289 Posted June 20, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2018 Hi Have been once, we caught Vapaetta no 1 from Plaza Roma though the canal to St Marks Square. Once there became stuck, difficult to get around other then jumping on water taxi again. Has any one got a route around, suitable for a wheelchair, whereby we can see more? katisdale Posted June 20, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2018 Yes, google "accessible venice". The site that comes up includes a map showing how to get from one area to another. Some of the bridges have ramps on one edge or the other. The ramps are somewhat steep but if you have a strong pusher quite doable. I use a scooter and had minimal problems except for dodging moms with strollers and delivery people with handtrucks while on the ramps.
mercury7289 Posted June 20, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted June 20, 2018 katisdale Thank you so much, pusher's no problem because that is me! Do like to get my wife around, to see as much as possible. Last time somewhat unprepared, even though we arrived in St Marks square at 8.15 am that part of the plan worked. It was from then on that the problems became apparent. So thank you for your kindness
Stevi Posted June 21, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 21, 2018 My mum uses a wheelchair and I know they did Venice without any problems that I recall. I will try and remember to ask them for some details when I see them next. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
