Shopping in Cozumel

What are your favorite things to shop for? I've heard Cozumel is the best place to shop. I recently read on a thread that the vanilla is a must have!

Vanilla and tequila are usually good deals. Lots of shopping at the piers and downtown.

There is an open air market with LOTS of things to purchase. From knockoff handbags to vanilla. The farther back you walk the better the deals. Yes, you can haggle with these vendors. We are always on Carnival ships, so it's diagonal to the left outside the port, across the street.

Most of the stores near the port have pretty much the same stuff. One guy actually said "same junk, lower prices" to us. And, yes, they will haggle. Just start walking out and the price will drop dramatically.

Any idea how late the stores are open we are in port until 10:00 p.m. and may do an excursion until 6. We will be on a carnival ship.
