konatyme Posted January 29, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2018 On a 2010 Panama Canal cruise to , we took an Odyssey Tours trip to Manuel Antonio National Park in Costa Rica. Although it was 2 hrs. away from the Puntarenas port, it was a wonderful tour--lots of monkeys & sloths, also coatimundis, iguanas, etc. We are taking another Panama cruise in Jan. 2019 & are considering taking this trip again. Has anyone done the same tour lately? If so, how did it go and what did you think? Thanks!
Grandma Cruising Posted January 29, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 29, 2018 We did this tour with Odyssey recently from Quepos, which was much closer, so it didn’t take long to get there. The guide was really good, but we didn’t see much as it was a Sunday in high season and there were a lot of people there. We had to queue to get into the park, then queue to see things along the path. We only saw sloths and howler monkeys at a distance. We saw an iguana, a couple of lizards, a deer, a raccoon and a lot of capuchin monkeys. Sent from my iPad using Forums

konatyme Posted March 6, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted March 6, 2018 We have since discovered that Manuel Antonio park is closed on Mondays, which is the day our ship will be there. We are currently looking into other places to visit with Odyssey Tours. By the way, our first visit to Manuel Antonio was in 2010 & it wasn't at all crowded. Don't know whether it's gotten much busier, or if we were just lucky that time.
Grandma Cruising Posted March 6, 2018 #7 Share Posted March 6, 2018 I think the fact that it was a Sunday made it worse. All the locals used the park to get to the beach. Sent from my iPad using Forums
