Rare itsanita Posted January 22, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2018 If you did not want to go into Edinburgh, is there anything to do in the port of South Queensferry? Can you walk to the town from the area where the tender docks? Thanks
tartanexile81 Posted January 22, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2018 South Queensferry is a small town but interesting. You probably wouldn't spend the whole day there, as it is really only has one short main street but it is quaint and definitely worth a visit. It would probably take 10 - 15 minutes to walk from the top of Hawes Pier where the tender docks to the church at the far side of the centre. anthonyy7 Posted January 23, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 23, 2018 I’ve been making a list of things to do for this summer. You could go to Inchcolm island. The ferry I believe leaves from same pier the tenders come in. Perhaps if someone who knows can chime in. https://www.maidoftheforth.co.uk/inchcolm-island Seems to be more than one tour company that operates so here’s their link. http://www.forthtours.com/inchcolm.asp Sent from my iPhone using Forums

I think I read it on the second website you mentioned. Sent from my iPad using Forums

The Maif Of The Forth is actually used for bringing passengers ashore because of its large capacity. Also when a cruise ship is in, the pier is a secure zone accessible only to those with approved passes / cruise cards
anthonyy7 Posted January 23, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 23, 2018 Thanks Tartan, do you know the alternative boarding locations? Sent from my iPad using Forums
Al54 Posted January 24, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 24, 2018 Forthtours.com website says : Port Edgar marina, they even give a map. Go to the website, click on "cruises" then "Cruiseships sightseeing cruises" and in the text, click on Port Edgar and you'll get the map (it's necessary to enlarge to have a good idea of the distance). Sorry to interfere, because your question was for Tartanexile, but as I was looking for the same thing, I just found this answer.
