138east Posted October 15, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 15, 2017 Leaving for Barcelona Friday for the RCL Freedom. Feedback on the Oct 22 Roll Call has been good from the folks who sailed today on the previous cruise. The port is open and no feedback on any port stops being cancelled. jocap Posted October 15, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 15, 2017 I haven't heard of any impact on cruising nor holidays in general in Catalonia; the protests were mainly over the weekend of the referendum, and were just in the public spaces. The next couple of days might have more protests, but I shouldn't think they'd be down by the port.
zigdilcru Posted October 15, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 15, 2017 We were in Barcelona on 9/18 and 9/19 no problems whatsoever. They have had their referendum since then and the Spanish govt gave them to sometime this week to respond so there is that. If you are there soon my advice would be to try to avoid the squares where there might be activity. There are plenty of other areas that would be fine for sightseeing and no activity. Enjoy your trip
