Question about the Paradise compared to the Magic.

We were on the Magic in March, and the Alchemy bar was our favorite hangout at night. The drinks, bartenders, along with the live music was good all week.

We're going on the Paradise in October. I just assumed every ship had an Alchemy bar, but I was disappointed to see that the Paradise doesn't. I do see they have something called the "United States Bar". Is that similar to the Alchemy bar? Not so much for the drink menu, but is it similar in "vibe" with the live music and such?

idk about the vibe, but you are going to have a more friendly ship, its less than half the size of Magic, the oldest class of ship, so you see the same people over and over.

It cant have all that magic has, its a much smaller ship, doesnt have the big screen tv at the pool, and fewer food choices.

but id say the vibe more friendly to me.

US States Bar is a casino bar-- nothing at all like any Alchemey bars (US Bar is also a smoking bar

Your music will be the slot machines next door.

At night a live band plays around 9pm til the wee hours

The Rotterdam bar all the way aft by the Queen Mary Lounge is the bar they could have made into an Alchemy Bar. Don't know why they didn't.

That aft bar did turn into Alchemy on Fascination. It is n't the best layout with the columns and the bartenders don't like being so spread out from the guests. But it is still Alchemy drinks. I think for us, after being spoiled by several trips with Alchemy we would not book a Carnival ship without it.
