Food/Drinks in Cozumel

Starting to research for our day in Cozumel. The popular places mentioned are the 'all inclusive' resorts (Mr Sanchos, Nachi Cocom) or other pay as you go places like Paradise Beach.

Maybe it's a silly question, but I always thought you are to avoid food in water in Mexico as it can make you sick (drinks can have ice cubes). Are these places extra careful and they are fine? Or people just take chances?

All of the tourist spots will use purified water for cooking, ice, etc. -- you should have no issues as long as you avoid the tempting tacos from a street vendors.

That said, I think there was something wrong with the 12th margarita on my last trip that made me feel a little woozy! ;)
