cruiseco Posted March 17, 2018 #5 Share Posted March 17, 2018 If you have to cancel the cruise the insurer will ask for proof of payment -- either a cancelled check or a copy of your credit card statement. That's the date that will be used. As far as the insurers are concerned an invoice/receipt from the travel insurer is useless as these can be back-dated with little trouble.
