TeeRick Posted November 5, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 5, 2017 Another Canada/NE cruise season coming to an end. Our cruise on Celebrity Summit was changed and we missed a port due to speed restrictions in the Gulf of St Lawrence. This was enacted by the Canadian government to protect the North Atlantic Right Whale breeding population. I was not happy about missing a port but was intrigued to potentially see one of these endangered whales. Unfortunately we did not see ant type of whales at all. Did anybody sea a Right Whale in the 2017 cruising season?

Riverviewnb Posted November 28, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 28, 2017 Many Northern Right Whales were not in their usual feeding grounds in the Bay of Fundy. There were some 16 fatalities this summer/fall. This whale was towed to Miscou Island NB for a necropsy.
oilsand Posted December 19, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 19, 2017 Although the NA right whale hangs closer to shore ,I never saw one either. Dont think that is uncommon as there are less than 1800 left in the world. I would think the chances of seeing one would be slim
