on the ship it cost $109pp with a $15 food voucher at atlantis its only $60 for the beach pass and $110 for the aquaventure ($145 on the ship) which is the same thing but you get to use the slides and all of that stuff.. IMO the beach pass was not worth it.. sure the one from the ship includes transportation and food but the food is limited to certain places and was not good at all... your choices include cheeseburger, hamburger, grilled chicken sandwich, fries and some other basic things like that... I got the grilled chicken it was like rubber needless to say I didn’t even eat it.. if you take a cab from the port its only $4pp

And there were only like 5 places you can choose from to eat and 3 of them werent even open

Atlantis is something to see. In '08 we booked a room at the Days Inn next door. Gave us all access to Atlantis for alot less. Not sure if they're still doing it- but it was a great way to see Atlantis and it offers for less then the cruise excursion prices.

If looking to save a few bucks! We took a land taxi to Atlantis, went inside and looked at some of the Aquarium. Stopped in the Casino for about 30 min and walked out $20 bucks to the good.

A short walk up the road to the public entrance to Cabbage beach, used our ship beach towels on the sand, bring one extra from the ship to dry off. Taxi back to the ship area, did some shopping and a few drinks. Taxi was around $6 ea way.

If you really just want the beach, there are lots of options that don't cost nearly that much and require less walking - and you might end up at nicer and less crowded beaches. The beaches at Atlantis are really nothing extra-ordinary. From the shuttle, you'll be walking a good 1/2 mile just to get to the beach at Atlantis. The "free/included" shuttle back to the ship ends at 5PM. After that, you are out-of-pocket anyway.

The bahamas boards do have a lot of info. Search for many of the postings from ScubaGirl. She has posted many recommendations.

The public Jitneys are an experience and if you are one of those who likes to see a place the way the people who live there see and experience it, a jitney to a popular (i.e., safe) public beach is the way to go. And won't cost you more than $10 or $20 depending on what you want to do about lunch.

If you want to pick up some food to take with you, ask one of the vendors at the shopping center (that you are forced to walk through to get off the pier) for directions to the grocery store. It is to the right about 3 or 4 blocks along the waterfront. There, you can get cold bottled water and whatever else you might want for a reasonable price.

We went last October and did this tour through Carnival. The Atlantis is very nice and pretty. It was drizzly and ugly on the day we went so we were bummed. We couldn't swim on the beach because the current was too bad. The pools were very nice, the aquarium was pretty cool. There are some shops and the casino was good. The food was ok, normal burger type place. I probably would have had a better feel of it if the weather hadn't ruined it for us. Overall it is very nice. Good luck and have fun. Hope the weather is good for you.:D

Comfort suites paradise island gives you full access to atlantis, beaches pools waterslides etc. paid 200 for 4 people, taxi was 4 dollars per person from the pier to the front door. check in to hotel, drop off your stuff, then go over to atlantis...about a 3 minute walk. have fun, swim, explore ,gamble, then go back to comfort suites relax by pool for a few, take a shower and head back to the ship.
