candctroll Posted April 4, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2018 When on an Alaskan cruise, specifically the Carnival Legend, would the port arrival and departure times be PST or Alaskan time? I know on most Caribbean cruises I have been on they always stay on port time but the excursion operator said there they will go by Alaskan time. And while I think she knows more than I do because she works with cruise ships on a daily basis and they make a lot of money that way, my boyfriend is a little worried. Anyone know? CruiserBruce Posted April 4, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 4, 2018 Carnival is the one cruise line that is not consistent about this. Essentially all others will change times to match local time. I would ask on the Carnival board.
Budget Queen Posted April 4, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 4, 2018 Carnival does go to local times. Sailing out of Seattle you will go 1 hour back before your first port. Then go forward an hour, before you last port day in Victoria. IF there happens, to be a change with Carnival, it won't be any secret, so just go back an hour with your Alaska tours, compared to the unchanged ship time. But= highly doubtful it would ever happen. bob brown Posted April 5, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 5, 2018 AFAIK, Carnival only does that "ship's time" practice (not changing to local time zone), on some of its shorter Caribbean cruises...
