snirpville Posted July 9, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2018 I checked the NCL website and it states that the ship will either Dock or Anchor so does anyone know if there is any way to find out? We arrive in late September at 1pm so I'm thinking dock but curious as to what others' experiences are. Thank you.
Trimone Posted July 9, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2018 The Star docked right next to the eclipse, owned by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.
Rare KeithJenner Posted July 9, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 9, 2018 The number of berths in Dubrovnik does mean that occasionally ships need to tender. However, it is quite rare. Whilst it may have happened in the past, I have never known of a specific instance of NCL having to tender. You will be unlucky if that is the case. snirpville Posted July 9, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted July 9, 2018 It looks like not too many ships so I will assume we are docked. Thanks!
zqvol Posted July 9, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 9, 2018 I have both docked and tendered in Dubrovnik. I refer to tender because you are dropped at the gate to the old city, thus avoiding a cab or bus ride.
hal2008 Posted July 22, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 22, 2018 The new port area by the new bridge (slightly further away from town than old berths now used nianly ny ferries) has more berths and has docking is more likely than tendering. Tendering means not having to deal with taxi/bus. Bus will need money in local currency (kuna) (12 kuna per person) Euro is not accepted. Taxi will gladly take 13 euro.
