Grommetjes Posted May 18, 2018 #6 Share Posted May 18, 2018 I went to the Acropolis with the X80 yesterday. The bus stop is right outside cruiseterminal B. There is a stop for the other terminal too. The bus driver kindly said which stop you had to get out to get to your ship. Costs for a round trip is 4,50. The bus leaves every 30 minutes. It was very easy to get to the Acropolis once we left the bus. To get back to the cruise terminal, wait at the bus stop right across the street from where you arrived. There is no time table at the bus stop. We waited for 10 minutes. This is a very easy and cheap way to visit the Acropolis and Plaka!:D

mack44 Posted May 31, 2018 #8 Share Posted May 31, 2018 We took the X80 bus on May 20 and it took us a few minutes to find. If you arrive in terminal A, walk towards your left, past all the tour busses and you will reach the little ticket kiosk stand. If you pass the hop on hop off bus area, you’ve walked too far. The bus will pick up on the street directly in front of the ticket kiosk. In case anyone wanted to know, the ticket kiosk accepts credit cards. We stopped at the Acropolis stop but instead of walking across the street to the Acropolis, we decided to walk around the corner to see the temple of Zeus first. We were able to purchase the special ticket package that included multiple attractions for 30 euros and no lines at the Temple of Zeus. When we finally arrived at the Acropolis, we avoided the LONG ticket lines and walked right up to the entrance. Also, when walking through the Plaka district or any crowded area, please make sure to secure and keep an eye on your valuables. We saw pickpocketers running away (didn’t know at the time until police started running after them) and we were also the unfortunate victims of another pickpocketer. travelingman Posted May 31, 2018 #9 Share Posted May 31, 2018 Does anyone know if you can take suitcases on the X80 bus? We will be staying over in Athens for a few days and will need to get onto town on our departure date. Thank you.
czrunner Posted June 3, 2018 #10 Share Posted June 3, 2018 I have the same question (about luggage) on bus X96. Since it's an airport bus, I would assume that luggage is allowed, but want to make sure. Thanks. -Marie
